ive never thought about doing it in ns, tho i do it in cs all the time (yeah yeah i know theyre nowhere comparable), can walls be effectively shot through in ns? effectively means doing any amount of serious damage i guess.
Just to make the list complete: I'm pretty sure the Grenade launcher and Xenocide also pierce walls. Basically, all of the area effect weapons. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

There are only 2 ways rounds can go through walls. The effect is coded in, like in CS and DoD, or it is mapped in at a paticular spot by using func_illiutions and clip brushes. However, in NS it isn't coded in, and skulks can't climb clip brushes. Besides, with MT it would be unfair if marines could fire through walls.
Yes, if you add area effects extending over walls, those weapons are 'piercing'. Compared to, say, the AWP, this is however relatively 'tame', isn't it? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
thats one cool thing i heard about HL2 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Area damage will change based on the walls.
Instead of a radius ignoring walls it'll take them into account. So a grenade in a small hall will explode to fill the hall and even go further...if that makes sense. Basicly when you have an explosion in an open area all energy is released in all directions. However if you put that same explosion in a tunnel then all energy is released down the tunnel both ways, because it has no where else to go. Thus you get a more powerful (focused) blast.
basically if you were to put a grenade into a little metal beam or pipe line, you'll have the explosion like in blade 2 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.
(wasn't really and explosion, but its the same idea) <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
yeah thats what flayra wants to do with the flamethrower for ns <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
