Its just something else to do. I dont do it all the time, just sometimes when i feel like it. I dont play football all the time right? if i watch a movie, i feel bad/thrilled/good/happy/etc, and being stoned is just another experience. You could say the same to people that listen to happy skapunk or something to become more happy. They change/add something to their emotion using an 'artificial' medium. Just like weed. If i sometimes smoke weed to have a nice feeling/emotion, it does not mean that i only can get this emotion using weed. I can feel this happy too if im not stoned, but sometimes its just more fun in the situation (there are times people around me smoke but i dont just because im happy the way i am and i want to enjoy the moment without weed).
And why would you lose your respect to people who occasionally smoke weed? they are exactly the same as they were. They dont have to be less then you, or less then anyone. If they choose so, then let them do it. If you dont like it, ask them to -not- do it near you. They are the same people they were before you knew they sometimes smoked weed right?
I dont understand why you guys think that sometimes smoking the herb == complete junk/addict having no resistance against the 'evil' drugs. Why can't there be a middle way?
This is the last thing i say, because we obviously have a different opinion on things (which is very healthy), and i feel this discussion can go on (and is going on) for ages and i don't want that to spoil the forums.
Living in quiet backwater areas is one motivation I think most people have to do it. When there's nothing else to do, light a bowl. The only places open 24 hours around here are Perkins, WalMart, Waffle House, and Chuck's Drive-in. At midnight, it's either go to a restaraunt or go to someone's house and smoke.
Come to think of it, there are more productive things that can be done at someone's house.
