3d muzzle flashes

<div class="IPBDescription">Does ns have this feature?</div>Many mods use only a single sprite to create muzzle flashes. This method is simple, but it does have one drawback: muzzle flashes only look realistic when viewed from a certain angle.
Since NS has a particle system, I was wondering if it uses this particle system to display muzzle flashes.
If you don't know what I mean, take a look at this screenshot from the Global Warfare mod:

so i think it's possible. However i don't know if they inplemented it. if it's possible it would be a l33t idea <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
The downside to this method of course is that it takes a lot more rendering power due to all the sprites laid on top of each other.
Also, I doubt this'll make it into the first release, as we really want to get the first version out ASAP and don't have enough time to implement all the niceties we'd like to right now.
Then, this leaves something to look forward to in future releases, right?
