<div class="IPBDescription">Join Marines etc. How is it Transparent?</div> Hi,

I've just started mapping for NS. I don't have a clue how to make the "Join Marines", "Join Aliens", "Observe Match" etcetera transparent with it still being passable... how do I do this? Thanks for answering a noobs question, or even reading it.

tie a worldbrush to an entity. choose either func_wall (massive, you cant pass) or more fitting func_illusionary (you can walk through so you dont get stuck) then rendermode to additiv and fx_amound to 255. pure black is allways invisible, the fx tell the brighter colors how tranparent they are. lower values than 255 make it more transparent.

you should really read the "mapping forum faq" because such questions are not really necessary anymore...

The brush entity info_join_team should use the texture AAATRIGGER or NULL (i use AAATRIGGER) this is the part that lets you join a team. the visual part that says 'Join Marines' is commonly a func_illusionary set out as explaned in prev post.

I'd just like to mention that the <a href='http://nsworld.ns-central.co.uk/mappingguide/appendix2.php' target='_blank'>QSG</a> gives clear instructions on how to make these signs.
