Urge To Kill... Rising... Rising...
I am so **** off at ad companies and how they can put things on your computer without your consent or knowledge. My sister downloads off Kazaa Lite (not even Kazaa!) and recently I have been noticing much, much more crap on my computer than normal. Every time I load up my computer I have to run ad-ware (bowel removal service for your computer). Even after I run ad-ware, I still get these random popups, so I deleted Kazaa. But did the popups or the programs I've never heard of stop? Ohh no. It seems they have gotten worse (litererally, during the time of writing this, with no other windows open, I got asked if I wanted to change my homepage twice, and if I wanted to install "SpyBlast", a program that will protect your computer, ohh the irony in that... Anyway, I decided to track down the files that have been causing me so much frustration. Located deep in my windows folder, I am unable to delete them because they are in use by Windows, and there is no way for me to make them not in use except by turning off explorer, shutting down my computer. So it looks like I am gonna have to live with the constant popups and NS crashing until I get a new computer.
Edit: The popups...they don't stop, ever. Even when I have every program shut down and after a ad-ware sweep, every 5 min or so another popup. Luckily, I found a program that blocks them. The popups still come, which is annoying and uses memory, but at least now I hear a "beep" instead of having half life crash or being annoyed by a bs "do you want to install our program that will spy on you and put malicious code on your computer?" window.

Who knows. I have K lite and i have 3 differnt spy/addware programs, none of them found anything from kazaa lite.
*Edit*
And do you know whats even worse? Creators of Gator software, Gain, whatever the company name is, recently acquired all rights to divx, and if you download the wrong codec pack, you're gonna end up with their spyware crap on your computer.
"Perfect", yes. "Reasonable", no.
I've had Kazaa Lite installed for at least 9 months now. I do a sweep with Ad-aware usually once every other month or so, and it hasn't found any spyware since the first time I ran Ad-aware about 6 months ago.
Maybe the newer Kazaa Lite versions have snuck a bit of adware into the installer (which kind of defeats the purpose of 'Lite', doesn't it??). <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I love reading the fine text.

Unless you d/l a program. applcation/ file what ever that contain addware. K Lite cant stop that.
