So Uhh Gorges

:(-network dead for 2 weeks and counting
As mentioned in the BI forum I gather that the "heavy dependence on large numbers of gorges" would be a serious problem in public games due to non cooperation/greed though this is likely just pt ramblings(due to the statement also being true currently) I have no other reference so shall assume it to be correct. I shall also assume that gorge nozzle sucking was too powerful but to implement it on any slower scale would prove tedius. The obvious alternative, assuming this is a necessary approach would be to gain resources from other aliens. The manditory approach has obviously been tried, tested and rejected. The donation approached as presented in various voogru plugins for 1.0x proved too powerful due to the instant res stacking if all aliens donate, however I have yet to read any attempts to maybe merge the 2 concepts together.
Have it so that aliens can willingly "donate essence" to a gorge, in perhaps a 2-way interaction (to prevent stack donation) where the gorge receives the donor players nozzle income res so as to provide extra res, as in 1.0x, but without a complaint, yet not have too extreme a gain in res as to provide the res stacking of 1.0x. This would not be tedius as, one assumes, a gorge would have a guard for which they can both partake in base expansion without having to both be gorge.
I would like to know if the general opinion of the pts is that some pts are just venting frustration or that this is a current problem. If this is so could someone please inform me of the flaws in this very A+B idea because I make no pretences, [Im tired, have been working hard all day and am of average intelligence,] what are the flaws with this idea? (help me learn.)

The donating system i like more than voogrus (including a tax rate loss of some res) is the plugin that leechs resources whenever the gorge heals a teammate (1 res per heal).
In this plugin the leeched player does not need to be injured, howerer:
- The gorge looses adrenaline because of nonstop healing.
- The gorge can just leech from one player.
- Both players are standing stil for some time, sometimes there is a chain of 3 skulks that want to get leeched, poor gorge .
- Whenever the gorge heals you you loose resources.
- You can get 2 res just by healing bypassing players.
Just a simple example that the donating system can be bound to stuff.

The problem with this is it means that the gorge instantly gets a res bias which increases the speed of alien tech.

Alien Tech supercedes the marines the marines lose (Tier 1 units that are fully upgraded will do over tier 1 units that aren't, pure Starcraft stylz). So keeping it so the gorge can absorb more res a lot faster will speed alien tech too much against the marines.

I'm not currently aware if the opposite problem is true as the moment.

Yeah but being able to leech a players existing res always seemed a bit too poweful to me as you can concentrate all your res on specific things, which scares me Not tried that plugin though, where can I find it... actually fix my network plz I wanna play ns

Another simple thing that is missing in NS is that resources need to be transported to your base.
Let gorges (or skulks) have "resource bags". (maybe as upgrade)
you can suck some (lets say 5) res, but this goes to the "resource bag" and needs to get transported to the hive to get shared/available by all players. A full resource bag could make you damn slow too.

Yeah but its not "a lot" faster, it's moderately faster especially if you consider the 2 minute rt rule in which the maximum gained (2x normal income) is still rather slow. It does not really enhance alien tech in any situation other than hive rushing due to the spread of resources. Im am unsure as to the role of the gorge in 1.1 betas :/ so I cannot comment on the necessity for most players to expel all their res on keeping pace with the marines, though this sounds ideal it also worries me that such role exchange in a public game simply wouldnt happen well :/
