lol, have you ever seen something programed by commitie?
I take it you havn't, let me just tell you, it aint pretty
one of the reasons why NS works so well is that it is Flays babby, no one can force anything on him. Again, go hang out with other mod teams and you will see what hapens when every one has a vote.
most dev teams are led by one person, yes every one has input(PTs, Vets, rest of the team, they all have input), but one person has final say on all things. Yes, commity programing CAN work, but it is rare, especialy when all interaction is done via internet and not face too face.
I plan on donating around 20-35 dollars when 1.1 comes out. OMG, I'd buy like 10 plush gorges if they had them. Those would be sooooo friggn cool, and they had the chuckle with it, OMG PWNZ()R!!@1213312 <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

Flayra is the commander of the Frontiersmen sent back from the future to train us all in preparation for when the Kharra attack for real. Being able to play as the aliens gives us an opportunity to better understand Kharra tactics so that we can more effectively fight them.
The same is true for CS, it is a trainning program for Counterterrorist teams. Unfortunatly, it was a total failure, as it was soon discovered that the best players had no real skill and just used hax, so there was no way of finding the genuinely good players.
As for the original half-life, two words: plausible deniability.
If some guy said 'I was at black mesa! There were aliens and monsters and the millitary tried to kill me!'
You would think: 'Nutjob. It's a GAME man.....'
And if any of you remember UFO: enemy unknown... thats right.....
