*my eyes catch fire looking at malambis's version* "OH MY DEAR GOD! THE LEETNESS! ITS TOO MUCH FOR MY MORTAL EYES TO BEAR!" *catches on fire in general and then melts like the evil wizard of oz* But seriously, good job. I thought you mean the icon in the engineering bay when you click on it, not the counter on the marines themselves. sorry.

Ocular implants are for ghosts, not marines. marines don't have the potention to undergo something like that, since most are druggies and reformed criminals, thus making them expendable. GHOSTS are like special ops. you don't give a full auto M4 to a normal army grunt, he'll just abuse that and waste the ammo real fast, like in vietnam. thats why he gets the controled M-16. and oculars only make you see farter (IE: check out the rack on the girl two blocks away), not see through walls and motion. thats only in the strange rip off called Starcraft: GHOST. :\
Actually, I believe it was mentioned in either the Starcraft manual, or on the Blizzard website, that ocular implants gave Ghosts the ability to see in multiple wavelengths. Infrared for low-light and arctic operations, ultraviolet for desert warfare, along with the additional capability of monocular-type zoom where the iris would expand it's depth. Ghosts complained of it's extensive use because of the discomfort they caused over a period of time, which is one of the explained reasons, along with expanding their multispectrum sight capabilities, why there's a scope on the C-20 Canister Rifle in Starcraft: Ghost.
So yeah. It wouldn't make sense for everyone to have ocular implants, but function-wise it fits in as close to perfect as you can get.
How about a simple recolor of the HUD, and Jetpack Fuel Icon to match the yellow upgrade sprites? Would it be simple to do? Another little SC thing to bring it together.
If any admins see this post, I want a :rolleyes: smiley <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
It's also in the Official Release Topic (both of them, no less <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )
And so demonstrates, it's not the size of your search function, it's how you use it. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I know we've just found out about the minimap, but would it be possible to have SC icons on that? Like the icon for a Zerg instead of a hive or something.
