??????
This is quite embarressing really...my computer had a major breakdown
I managed to save most, but one drive had to be formatted, and unfortunately, that drive held half-life. And the nstr. So, i went on a hunt to get a new copy. I tested google, but it just turned up with lots of news archives from 2002. I couldnt fins it on the official site either. So, anyone know where I can get that elusive tech release again? Thanks

That FGD is now out of date, I believe. There's a newer release... somewhere. Try the mapping forum FAQ.

hehe...wonder how we ever got any maps at all for ns, considering the confusion when one asks for basic tools...oh well *tries google again*

Well, the NSTR isn't a "basic tool". It was a cut-down version of NS made to allow mappers to test their maps in an NS environment before release. You don't need the NSTR to map for NS.

Heh, it should be obvious that if the NSTR was released before NS 1.0, that it was outdated...

Ok I would like to remind everyone that the in-game particle editing thingy works in nstr2.

And because I am a huge fan of the search button I used it. http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...24389&hl=nstr+2
I came up with a post that is also asking about it, and even has a link! BUT I think monse sais it in that thread that the maps made in nstr2 WONT work with ns 1.0.

I remember playing the NSTR -- good times. Nothing like a good game of Dodge The Turret back on the glorly corridor.

Well, I'll start off with teh bad news=, I've not gotten hammer to do didly, so I can't help you there. Now, the good news. I use QuArK (6.4 alpha, to be exact), and I love it. It's pretty simple to set up, and pretty simple to maintain. So much more intuitive than the messy, evil Hammer. I'm more than happy to help you get set up, and mapping with QuArK. It's so simple, you could start in a few minutes, or less. Im me on AIM, or PM me, or E-mail me, or whatever, and I'll help you out. Same goes for anyone who wants to try QuArK. Oh, PS: Download QuArK here.
