Avi File Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Suspected virus</div> I'm going to bed, so I'll make this brief

recently a few of my .avi files have stopped working.
I get this message "ClassFactory cannot supply requested Class"
I dunno what's happened, I suspect a virus. 2 files that were working before aren't.
Could be a codec problem, I don't know.

A few opinions/suggestions would be nice.

Sounds like a codec problem.
Use <a href='http://www.headbands.com/gspot/' target='_blank'>G-Spot</a> to check wich codecs they use, and check to see if you have all of them up to date.

hmmmm could be a DirectX9 problem according to a few links from that google search.

Gonna have to cross-check in the morning....

i didn`t think avis could be infected by virus or trojans of any type.
they are non executable so i`d say its some other problem.
