<div class="IPBDescription">Ah, the memories!</div>Vinegar_Ninja, SiLeNcEr-7, and I had a great game of DOOM 2 DM just now. Really really fun. Its been years since I've played DOOM II DM (though I've played coop some much more recently), and man, now I remember what I was missing!

Gotta be the most intense, fast paced DM around, even more fast paced than the Quakes. Gotta love double barreled shotty at point blank range. ^_^

We should all have a big big DOOM or DOOM II game sometime! Deathmatch too, not no sissy coop. Anybody else interested?

[edit] Two things: When you get pwned while trying to typekill someone you just <i>know</i> something is wrong, damn ultra health/armour thing, and we should try all the ports, I get no lag when I play Jdoom, Doomaniac and Vinn say that the netcode is horrible, but the nubs were probably using a older version on thier 14k modems, Zdoom might be good to check too, although if your gonna talk Zdoom you gotta talk mods, its compulsary. couldn't you play co-op in Doom 2 regular ? i'm pretty sure you could..

The question here is not whether or not you can, but why you would want to... Play normal Doom 2 coop when you can use a much better port that is

Well first we'd have to find a nice revision of Doom with good netcode, as the original netcode was meant for LAN I think...


Then we'd all have to agree upon it and organize.

It seems that <a href='http://www.zdaemon.org/' target='_blank'>ZDaemon</a> has the best netcode and such.. hey it was even used on a ScreenSavers LAN Party once.

Ah, I love using a single shotgun, and just pumping the shells into the Cyber Demon's body, using BFGs, rockets, single shotguns (double is too good), and plasmaguns... I punched out a Cyber Demon once. Of course, I had Berserk... and I weakened it with like 3 BFG hits, plus a few rockets... but man, that was awesome, he fell to the cool brass knuckles! Man, Vinegar_Ninja pwnz DOOManiac, but not at server hosting ^.^;;.

Does anyone actually know what BFG stands for?

Nothing was more satisfying in a good Doom deathmatch game than shooting a rocket ahead of a guy far away and nailing him.

one of the silly things about Doom, is that you can run faster than the rockets fly, so you can hit yourself :/

Have you got Doom Connector? It is a lobby-like program that lists servers on the 'net. There's also some mods out there, like where you can use mouseaim and even jump!
