<div class="IPBDescription">no not turrent</div> ok, just got off the phone with my bro and he told me about Wolfenstien:ET, and that it was free... and cross platform...

seeing how as he is not into games and is a linux usser, him suggesting games is rare, so I gotta try this out.

Only problem is that I can't seem to get a good dl of it. He told be about <a href='http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/' target='_blank'>BitTorrent</a>, however that webbie is dead. cOuld any one point me to a wrking DL for BitTorrent?

For a quick overview it is like some file sharing services where every one DLing a file simultaneously acts as a host for it (thus GREAT transfer rates)

so, any one wana hook me up?

Thanks

    I use <a href='http://sf.net/projects/btplusplus/' target='_blank'>Bittorent++</a>, its kind of buggy though, and I don't know where to get the original BT client, but this should suffice.

    BitTorrent is TERRIBLE. Terrible transfer rates, trust me. No matter how many people are downloading.

    By the way, mods, please don't lock this topic. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> He's trying to find a download for a free game. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    thats odd, seeing how as my bro says 200 meg is normal

    However if you are locked up behind a fire wall with out the proper ports open then it will be horible DLs

    lol, just realized that as I was setting this up my Fileshack DL got up to 98%, so I don't really NEED it. but still

    any one know the port rang?

    thanks <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    His brother is right, bittorent gives you insane download speeds and uses up almost no bandwidth (for the host), it all depends on how many people are downloading though. Dunno about the ports you need to open, I would suggest gettting rid of your firewall and using ZoneAlarm, unless the firewall is beyond your control.
    [edit] ROFL! Bitturrent! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> [/edit]

    I was downloading a redhat ISO at almost 150 k/s, Bittorent ate up all my bandwidth and I couldnt even surf <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
