Watch Mons disembowel himself honorably.
Attention! The last applications will be accepted wednesday midnight (EST).
Some of you may have read about the plans for a Samurai contest on RR.org. Well, we're finally far enough to take applications for players.
Presuming everything goes smoothly, the contest will be held at the weekend from the 28th to the 29th June. If you're interested, post a reply with your in-game alias and the area you live in (to help matchmaking) in this thread or contact me via E-Mail (samuraitourney@natural-selection.org). By signing up, you agree to follow the rules below.
Readyroom.org Samurai Contest Rules:

One match consists of three games in the rules of Samurais shareware version. The winner of the majority of games wins. In case of a tie, the absolute number of tiles decides.

The outcome of each game is to be reported to the contest organizers, either by E-Mail or by notification in the IRC channel created for this occasion.
'Outcome' means the winner of the game and the amount of won tiles (Added up from all three castes. A player with 4 noble, 3 religious, and 5 farmer tiles would have won 12 tiles in that game.) of both players. If both sides can not agree on the outcome of a game, they are both disqualified. Possible prizes are awarded to other players.

Any kind of technical problem (disconnects, crashes, cats jumping over the keyboard and thus typing 'Format C:'...) that hinders a player from continuing his/her game is counted as loss for this player unless the rival agrees to replay the game. Such issues are to be reported as outcome of this game.

Be nice and keep it friendly. Anyone being a big stinker about results will be dealt with in a swift and unpleasant manner by the organizers. (Unpleasant for you, that is.)

Anyone interested may sign up to the contest by posting in the forumthread or E-Mailing the organizers. The organizers (Monsieur Evil and Nemesis Zero) are free to participate, will however not recieve prizes in case they reach a position that would have entitled them to one.

Players must provide screenshots of their declaration screens for each game, in order to keep track of scores for the wildcards and third-place finisher. No exceptions!
Bracket Rules
(Note that we will post the matchups in a bracket format Saturday at noon (12PM/1200-EST/US))

There are 36 players in the tournament.

There are 5 rounds of play in order to reach the finals -

- 3rd Round - Surviving 5 v. 5 (note that the 10th player is a wildcard from the 2nd Round - the player with the most tiles from the 2nd Round that did not make the 9 will play against the 2nd Round's highest scoring player.)
- 4th round - Surviving 3 v. 3 (note that the 6th player is a wildcard from the 3rd Round - the player with the most tiles from the 3rd Round that did not make the 6 will play against the 3rd Round's highest scoring player.)

Oh, while I think of it, I couldn't get the 1.1 patch to download. Am I going to need that to play and if so could someone send it to me?
It looks simply fascinating however, but I prefer my board games to have zee pieces. There is just something about having that nice but of wood on a little cardboard board.
Mind...hmmmm.
