Problems With Avatars

<div class="IPBDescription">I cannot upload my own creation</div> Before I explain my situation, heres my question: What are the file size lymits for an avatar?

And before anyone complains, I tried to use the search feature on avatars, but I kept getting "Page Not Found" errors.

I'm very adept with Adobe Photoshop 6.0, so I decided to make my own avatar for these forums. So I did. I saved a 64 pixel by 64 pixel *.jpg on my computer, and chose to upload it as my avatar. But instead of getting my new avatar in, I got an error message that was along the lines of"The file is not usable...". So I changed it to a *.gif image. Then it said my file was larger than allowed, so in order to attempt to reduce the file size, I made it 52x52 pixels, but it still says its too large. I couldn't find anywhere on the page that mentioned file size, which really shouldn't be a problem because the gif I made is only 3 kilobytes max. avatars aren't meant to be uploaded to NS.org. Try putting it on your website and linking it (that's what I did). Were I at school, I could offer to house it. As for avatar size rules, check the artwork forum (I think it's like 22kb)

I might as well try that, since nothing else seems to work. Although it does say right in thte avatar selection menu to choose to upload your own avatar, and when you click it, a file browwser window pops up starting at your desktop.
