There are three words in the English language. What is the
third word? Everyone knows what it means and everyone uses it
every day. Look closely and I have already given you the
    third word. What is it?

Yes I love the Word Detective. Got one of his books in my closet somewhere. But anywho, according to another book(Wayside School I think is the name) the only word that rhymes with it is burp'll. It was a poem and something about a baby's face being purple, and a burp'll help. Well um yeah you get my drift.

the one that sounds like purple, as said by somebody playing keanu reeves in celebrity jeopardy on SNL, is LIGHT URPLE. the question that will ferrel (sp?) asked the person playing keanu for the name of a color rhyming with urple.

the one that ends in gry is the word "gry", the word "aggry", or the word "what". and those are all words.

technically, there are more than 3 words in the English Language, "age" is contained within language.
Perhaps the line should be there are 3 whole and seperate words in "the English Language"

as for a rhyme for orange, it depends how you pronounce it. I can rhyme it with fringe, syringe, binge etc.

Finally, purple, turtle rhymes with it, it just doesn't have an identical consonant sound at the end, the vowel sound (which, lets face it, is what rhymes most commonly play upon) is the same. Its perfectly acceptable (in my opinion, which is the only one that counts.......in my opinion)
