Well those are PT servers now.

Many people enjoy voogru's servers. I also would suggest Evolutionarily Challenged server.

Pick a server, any one that dosent seem to be full, and play on it.. eventually, you will become a regular..
If its empty, join and get yourself a snack.. If there are a lot of regulars, itll be full enough for a game by the time you get back
I took a server from 0 to 6 in like 2 minutes, jsut by running around the map backwards waiting for people <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

Well the STD pub server has always had a very high level of competition, and some very talented players on it, with 1.1 in the mix it has been empty a lot more than usual, but when people are on it, it is a great server to play on.

Hastezone was prolly one of the best servers in terms of skill back when it was up <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>
Nowadays I play mainly on Sl33pl3ss (ns.rh.rit.edu) since a good amount of HZ regulars play there as well as many other skilled people. I also sometimes play on Evil's, SOM's and STD's clan servers

Try searching your list of servers. The server you just put in an IP for should have a little asterik thingy in front of it so it should be fairly easy to find.

I wouldn't say Hastezone was the best talent wise, but it was definetly a good atmosphere and the games were very fun at least.

idk mcclane, there were lots of good people there. We even had STEAMEDHAM back in the day :-p.

I just realized that you're the hastezone mcclane <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>. I didn't put 2 + 2 together.

sl33pl3ss (ns.rh.rit.edu) has some good players, even if it is a larger server. It's got lots of regs, and usually fills up fast. It's sort of like a new HZ. I'd also recommend STD's server.

ackz probably got closest to the best answer. The best guys got into the 1.1 playtesting. And even when they get consumed with nostalgia for infinite jetpacking or somesuch silliness, they're on random pubs and often smurfing. Just need to look around.

Or of course, as the illustrious GREENETC. points out, log on to voogru and prepare for some hardcore asskicking.

You got to remember to define 'best'

X-Tended play has some of <b>the</b> most skilled players on it, and some of the non clanners put clans to shame. But it also has a high rambo %, as these players <b>know</b> they can cope on their own.

For famous faces, I'd suggest Nano Gridlock.

I play at CoFR and nano mostly, but always looking for servers. I've got about 5 lined up in case my priority ones are full.....
