Under Attack?

Dont step back!
Listen, this is a common mistake made by every rine, even vets. Do not walk backwards if you are under attack. The skulk will have a major speed advantage and you are doing nothing to put distance between you and him. Your actually subtracting distance between you and him.

Instead, STRAFE. Strafe to the left or right of a skulk, and you usually stay alive a lot longer...just never walk backwards in a fire fight. If you have to go your oppisite direction at the time, turn tail and RUN.

Just thought I might add this in here...as too many of my fellow marines are doing this, and I'm sick of it!

Combo strafing and running backwards at the same time. You'll realize why 1.1 is having some bunnyhopping nerfs.

I agree, i very rarely run backwards. If i get one on one with a skulk running towards me then 99% of the time i stand my ground and stare him down while firing and then jump to the side just before he reaches for the first bite.

If a skulk runs straight at you, he's asking to get nailed anyway, surely?

But you're right. Too many marines think back peddling is a good plan. Hey kids, use your sideways buttons, thats what they're there for.

I have problems with that because a skulk seems to have a 4 ft bite range, a bit like a fade's smacking range. So I can never judge when to dodge since they eat me before I thought it possible.

When a skulks runs towards me, I just jump towards him.

This way I get out of his way, and use his speed forwards to increase the distance between ourselfs. After I jump and land, I just aim at his sorry **** and kill him.

Mid air biting is so much fun...and tbh quite easy.. just jump in the right time.. and when a marine jump backward then u can always circle around him evntully getting him killed from the back

skulks need a bigger bite range in order to win

wrong, skulks need to learn the art of backstabbing & stealth.
The skulk's bitegun doesn't need to be changed into a instagibsniper.

I stand still, look the Kharra **** in the eye, and shoot em. Then i peel over dead from the other skulk who ambushed me.

The marine hitbox needs to be fixed. Vents are a pain in the ****, and I'm not sure if the hitbox works correctly even if the marine is just standing still. I think I've jumped towards a marine, bit him in the head and it hasn't registered. Jump-biting a marine has caused me a lot of headache: it just doesn't seem to do any damage. Biting their feet works well though.

What I alway's like to do, instead of moving backward's or sideways. I try and jump over the group of Skulk's, sometime's I can have almost 3 Skulk's trying to kill me.. they'd never touch me, well eventually if I don't kill them, because I kept jumping over them. But, playing as an alien.. I see how lame my tactic is and how jumping marine's make being a Skulk suck sometimes. =/

Reverse bhop is a cheat used by lamers. The skulk can never catch up so the rine can pump in the rounds required unopposed.

I run straght at the skulk then jump strafe to one side flying by them. Then they have usually lost sight of me allowing me to take out my pistol and finish them, usually works even against vet skulks. Only way i lose is if the jump the same way and we collide midair.

a skulk you see is rarely dangerous..not even the real pros...if you have a clear shot and equal uppgrades you should be able to kill one..with distance between you >very close you should get 2-3....above that you need to be very lucky to survive, unless you bhop which is lame and should get you killed irl...

Head area causes some problems to me too. If marine is climbing up the ladders for example, it is very hard to kill him from above, because it seems that they dont take any damage then.

Usually when i jump towards the marine i aim the chest instead of head.

I agree, strafing while walking backwards is a good way to confused your attacker. Jumping out of the way is probably a little better, but sometimes it can even throw your aim off, or you happen to not be thinking and jump right into the skulk's buddies who were right behind him.

Bhopping is lame. It is really stupid and should not be used at all, even though some skulks continue bhopping around at 50 MPH, knocking people over like a bullet.
