<div class="IPBDescription">some mystical man? :o</div> can any one actually tell me who voogru is? he isn't part of the "NS team" on the website.... yet i see his name come up everywhere. i know he has done several plugins and things.. but its odd - who is this man?!?!?!?!

Apparently he's omniscient, too. Got here before anyone else did.

I used to play on the voogru servers until I started getting really horrible ping on them. Basically, afaik, he's this badass guy who's really good at doing mods for NS (and probably for other things). Off the top of my head, he's responsible for coding mods for max marine structures and manual siege! Also, from the girls on the server I hear he's really hot, and if I remember correctly he's also a badass breakdancer.

So there are tons of rumors about him, but he's reading this thread -- any comments? <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>

Just FYI voogru, (yes I know people hate it when other people point out bugs in their games but here I go) celerity increasing attack speed (as used on the voogru servers) is WAY unbalanced.

We had 5 games in a row where aliens got movement chambers first and they completely obliterated marines. They didn't even need 2 hives.

Now for something positive:

I love the manual sieges, and theyre not unbalanced, since there are pretty few maps where they can be used manually to any real effect (except nombliz). What was the other one.... ah yes, the SCs cloaking structures, always funny to watch a marine run head first into a WOL <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Can't remember any of the other features, but they're all great <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

That has been severely tweaked since I last had it setup. Its only a tiny bit faster at level 3.

i assume your very versatile at coding languages? some examples of how you actually start soem thing?! O_o

and a website with all your stuff? i heard of the manual siege, but never seen it.. would be interesteD :o

As for making plugins, If you already know C++ and have a good idea of the HLSDK, go ahead and get metamod and start fiddling with things.

If you know C++ and not the HLSDK, Id just wait till HL2. if you dont know C++, Learn that first. Then dive in. No point in going fishing without a fishing rod.

If you want to be a professional, then your best bet is to start with getting a CS degree, or at least a science/math degree with a minor in CS. Is that 100% necessary? No. Will it help a hell of a lot? Definitely yes.

Ewwww get this thread out of off-topic.

As far as voog's servers go they have res sharing, and res sharing as most current modded servers have it is horribly unbalanced, since gorges still get 3x res, and can ALSO get res from their team mates it always you to get 3 chambers, and 3 hives going in about 2 minutes flat.
