<div class="IPBDescription">Please Answer if you know.</div> This isnt an airsoft-paintball debate so please dont turn this topic into one.
For those of you who have never heard of it go here <a href='http://xover.mud.at/~asgaard/videos.html' target='_blank'>http://xover.mud.at/~asgaard/videos.html</a> and download that video. U can see Mp5s, FNP90s, AUGs and all that in action.
Ok Im going to start a team ay my college next year. But I had some general questions. So if anyone here knows something about Airsoft (NOT standard bb or pellet) guns and you either own one or have played with them for more then like just once or twice please give me some feed back.
Im thinking of getting some of the more expensive automatic electric ones with the internal motors.
Like some mp5s or G3s or m4s whatever..
1.In terms of reliablity, quality, range and Feet per second is there is a big difference between using gas powered guns or electric ones?
2. Electric ones (AEGs) are consideritly more expensive then the gas ones. However since when you buy the gas ones you have to buy that special "green gas" which (isnt cheap when it adds up). Are you saving lots of money over the long run buy getting a recharable battery powered gun over having to repeatedly buy more gas?
3. Which are louder, gas or electric, Im assuming gas but Ill ask anyways.
4. I know they do make grenade launchers now for guns such as the M4 and M16. They use the green gas and you fill up the grenade with like 40 pellets or so. Does this invention really work as good as they say or what. Same with the shot guns. (yes I know you have to buy special shells for them)
5. Since you can add on things like red dot (laser) sites, tac lights, scopes, etc. Do you have to buy specialy made "made for airsoft guns" stuff or can you fit on stuff that you could buy at a gun shop on there. EX. i want to put a tac scope on the M4.
6. The batteries in electric guns. usualy like the 7.2 and 9.2v size. Can all airsoft guns accept the rechargable type airsoft gun batteries?
7. Do they make electric guns that have the blow back feature that most of the gas ones have?
Thanks.

1,you'd be willing to spend ALOT of money if your buying an auto gas gun. AEG's are just fine and do the job.. i PERSONALLY find GBB's (gas blowback's) have that little more range but as they are 90% semi auto pistols... it doesnt matter.
2,as i answered above.. dunno where your looking... but gas ones would only be cheaper cos they are pistols... and yes gas can be quite pricey...
i stay away from GBB's now.. due to that reason... same thing as paintballing
100 paintballs = £6
3700 BB's = £7.50
the cost adds up over time belive me...
3, again this depends... the old tacmaster i had (m9) was pretty quite considering.. but the gbb MP5k was a loud beast..
so i would say AEG's because not only do you have the pop as the BB shoots out but the gearbox whine aswell...
4,shotguns arent gas powered (mojoritivaly speaking) they use a spring system... and as far as M203's (the underslung GL's on m4's etc)
you can buy TM (Tokyo marui ones) or SP (sun Project) TM are spring loaded in the same was as shotgun's the SP ones are gas powered and they use varied shells rangin from 14 BB ones to 168 BB shower shells...
5, some real steel equip will work some wont... i have a real calw mount on my mp5 but i tried a scop rail on my old FAMAS and it was too wide...
6, there are 7.2,8.4,9.6*i think* and they are all rechargeable no AEG takes unrechargebales i dont think.. and belive it or not 8.4 v is the most common battery arou nd used in mp5's m4's and g3's..
7,no they dont currently but they are being researched and prototyped by a company called classic army.
hope that helps mate.
I haven't used anything besides a gas blowback airsoft, so really I'd recommend anything except a gas one. The gas is expensive, it leaks, its a pain in the arse to reload, and its very, very expensive. And in my case, you can't even buy it around here, I would have had to buy more gas online and have it shipped every time I needed more. Pain. in. the. arse.
I'd love to have one of those fully auto AEG MP5A2's myself :P
some in bad cond. but im slowly getting them better.. i have quit playing airsoft now.. but i still need a few toys..
looks so fun, as well as being cheaper then PB as far as I can tell <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
lol, the one thing I could think of as I watched that vid though was this:
wow, Live action CS (so repetative <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
but then again, repatition in something like that would not be that bad <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
bah, I wana play <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

well not really...
cos the games can be played just like an NS one would... you can use the same old tried and tested strategy.. (jp/HMG)
or you can be bolder and try a new move...
it isnt repetitive atall really..
and the costs.. let me just say one thing...
right to get a tippy 98 custom is around ?200 + your gas tank hopper and all the other gubbins... your looking at around ?300 not bad considering a STOCK arisoft gun is around ?200-?250 but airsoft guns get upgraded and cn be worth up to ?500 on a m4 with a few tweaks..
what it comes down to is ammo. and power.
like i said above
100 PB's = ?6
3700 BB's = ?7.50
the avarage PBer goes through at least 1000 rounds... so thats ?60 everytime you play... not including the ?15-?20 they charge you as a green fee... usually you can get free gas.. but if not .. you need to buy your own gas too...
now airsofting..
you can use around the same amount of ammo... therefore... you still hae enough ammo for 3 days gaming and 700 for target shots in the garden.. and power is no probs ever.. you just need a plug socket.
and in reply to the other guy.. firecrackers banned? man that does suck.
That and they still whip people with cains if they break into cars...
i cant live without hubba bubba!

Also don't forget the Rattan cane which is what a Yank should have known about before he got 4 whips across his bare buttocks. More info <a href='http://www.wccusd.k12.ca.us/stc/ethical/singapore.htm' target='_blank'>here.</a>
1) In your experience (anyone), where is the best place to go online when lookin for airsoft stuff.
2) The cheapest electrics I've found are those mini guns. Are they worth the ~$14-30 or should you really save up for a full size one?
3) How does the round perform, versus a paintball round? (hard hitting, useful range, lots of arc?)

Now that Ive played around some...
<a href='http://www.747imports.com/electric747.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.747imports.com/electric747.htm</a>
They have a good selection of ful sized electric ones you can look at.
Save up for a full sized gun.
They look better and you can custumize them better with scopes, lazer sites, motor parts etc.
usualy 2 kinds of games , SWAT style CQB (think Rainbow 6 or CS) or more open games with (Think DoD) with rifles, sniper rifles, M60 machine guns,
Electric guns have a hopper system which lets you control the amound of backspin. Thus allowing you to make the paintball shot farther, or shorter by arching its flight. You can also upgrade your machine parts in electric guns to make them shoot even farther. A gun will shoot 100 yards depending on wheather or not you have upgraded parts.
You can get an auto matic electric gun for $300 American while a "Super semi" or automatic paintball gun is really exepsive, (think the Angel paintball gun). Ammo is much cheaper in airsoft as someone said before. If you get electric guns you dont need to keep buying gas either.
Also you can get tracer units for electric guns that use a tiny strobe (you cant really see it, it just illuminates the bbs as they shoot out.) It looks like you are shooting a green laser f u go full auto.
