Porting A Skeleton With Mesh From Ms3d To Max

<div class="IPBDescription">possible?</div> As topic, really. It's just that I'm told it'll be a lot easier to animate what I'm making if I do it in max. Are there any file formats I can use to get a MS model into max while keeping the skeleton and its vertex assignments? .3ds and .obj don't want to do that or me.

Dolefully bumping this, because it took me 20 minutes to attach my model to the skeleton properly in Milkshape, and I've been trying to do the same thing in MAX for about a week now.

Even just an explanation (or a link to one) of how to assign specific vertices to bones (instead of adjusting envelopes, &c) would be lovely.
