I might recommend you listen to Lacuna Coil and old Theatre Of Tragedy. Also Nightwish and The Gathering.
They're all female vocal metal bands, but all of a FAR higher class than the trash like Evanescensejheougaselkjg.
LC have dual male and female vocalists and the passion that flows through the music is moving to say the least. Also Nightwish who are only a female fronted band do some absolutely +DIVINE+ songs (Sleeping Sun, for example).
