Multiple Gorge At Start

<div class="IPBDescription">Some one start a poll plz</div> I have a proposal:

Multiple (2) gorges are a valid tactic at the start of a game.

Now I never get to try this on a pub server as every one starts calling you a n00b - etc - its crap - your crap - kick him etc.

How many people think multiple gorges are a valid strat?

Not sure if this is the correct place for this post - can some one create a poll for this question.

i.e 1 Gorge is the maximum, 2 gorges in possible etc

All the servers I play on seem to think that one gorge is the only option.

    I think so. Mind you it depends on what strategy you want to take in that particular battle, but I do support multiple gorges. I once even played a game where we all went gorge. Absolutely hilarious. We lost abysmally but had a hell of a lot of fun!

    I want to get a feel for the number of people who think its:

    1. A good idea - because they have seen it work <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    2. A bad idea - because they have seen it fail <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    3. A bad idea - because it always fails <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    4. A bad idea - because every one tells them it is <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Too generic answers, this is more of a discussion topic. Two gorges are viable in different situations. Some people understand the long term need for res towers and upgrades and have a main gorge plus someone will gorge to drop a res node or tower or some such thing, which in the end saves the main gorge a lot of res and will get you ALL evolutions quicker as you have more res to draw from. However, for speed sake you may encourage your team to NOT evolve anything in order for the gorge to gain overflow res for a second hive.

    Most of the time I'll gorge after the second hive is being built without asking (gets you kicked sometimes but it doesn't matter). It's a simple matter of being able to add and knowing how much res your team has and what upgrades. Of course, if you suck at gorge or don't know what you're doing...hehe...

    I've seen this tactic work pretty well on occasion

    Start off with one gorge, once he places the first resnode someone else gorges too.

    They both build res nodes for a while until they have 3 or 4.

    Then one gorge saves for the hive, the other builds more res, chambers, and *gasp* supports the frontline troops. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> If he dies well, hey, all that res above 33 just went to the first gorge. Faster hive anyway.
    So it's a win-win situation. Personally, I'm usually the 'first' gorge on an alien team, and I don't mind if someone else gorges with me.

    good idea except for the part about getting 3-4 RTs. You build/save up for 3 d chambers right after the first RT is dropped, or else your skulks will be chopped liver. Your aim to have level 3 carapace by the 4 minute mark. This is non-negotiable if you are facing good marines. If you're not facing good marines, then it doesn't realyl matter what you do right?

    Dual gorging works great, but requires coordination, something most normal pubs are lacking in.

    It *gasp* depends.

    On a team of newbs you are probably better off with 1 gorge.

    On a team of good players you *might* be better off with 2, depending on the situation.

    Sometimes you need 4 just to stay alive.

    If you need 4 to stay alive, then you're pretty much dead anyways.
