Lighting Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">pic attached (85k)</div> i have a box on my map that will not light at all..
its lit by a bunch of tex lights and one point light
which i added after the tex lights wouldnt render it.
the flash light wont light the area if you point it into it.
i am baffled by it.
oh heres what it looks like..

    well, forgive the pun, but those pics are very confusing as to what you're trying to show us. maybe take a screenshot from hammer so we can see where it is?

    Remove all lighting and add more slowly.
    If it doesn't work check that the texture isn't the 'black' texture <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
    If THAT doesn't work, delete the area and try again.

    if there are 5 or more entity lights on a surface HLRAD will either:

    A) Not render it
    B) Give you a error

    More often B, though A can happen sometimes though.

    i area taht shows up black has 3 tex lights and a point light and teh flash light dont work in it sweet eh? ahmmer shot soon

    teh area with the x comes up black and the latest version of hammer dont let the lights change to the cool bulb thing.. so teh pink box is a light despite the fact it dont look like one

    Try checking the log file to make sure it isn't complaining about anything in the area -
    also, could you show which of the surfaces in the area are brush entities <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    teh sclied scred is teh flash light at work there are no entities in teh area its all solid world brushes... so im totally lost but oh well i think it may be related to teh size of teh info loations im gonna reocompile tonite..

    what brushes are near - such as under, above, next to

    in the sven coop comm map, i made the black hand effect (your problem) by making funk_doors start open, and there fore they did not get light right

    try some of these

    it seems to have to do witht the overal volume off my level if i bog block ahlf teh level its fine wierd huh im not reported for being over teh ligthing max.. hmm oh well i think i have workaround and its compileing now:)
