Flayra that hacker...
Well, during this weekends playtest, my computer crapped out again I was playing away just fine, when Flayra attacks me and killed me. Less than a second later, my computer just shuts down (Flayra hacked me cause he thought I was going to kill him ). Anyways, I can turn it on, but only the fan spins up and the hard drive makes a few noises before becoming silent. I spent the last 2 hours fiddling with it, checking every connection, and totally rebuilding it to no avail. I am having it taken in tomorrow for "professional" work and I hope that can save it. I think something has crapped out on me though, and I have no cash right now to replace any of it. I locked up most of money in an account for the servers. I can nmot take this money out for another 2 weeks (insurance I would not touch it). So unless some miracle happens, I might not be around much for the next month. I am going away all next week camping anyways, so I guess it is not a huge loss.

Wish me luck, adios till later guys! (Damn library computer this is).

Hmm...a similar thing (but not fatal like Comprox's) happened to me right before I get into a game with Flayra. Everyone went to start and then BAM my computer goes to Zell. Took me quite some time to get to back working. Maybe Flayra is up to something....

Something similar has happend to me in the past. If I emember correctly I had to flick the power switch on the back of my powersupply to get it working (having dismantled the whole thing, tested each compomnent in another PC and found them all working). Stupid thing I can't see how it effected the rest of the PC, but it did...

    Have a nice camping trip.

I managed to stack my rig under a table at a small LAN party, right along side 2 other computers. None of them had overly great fans, and it was raining outside, so we couldnt open any of the windows. One of the HDD's fried shortly before the end of the LAN, mine died a few weeks later, the other one had a few problems with data corruption.

Ive learnt my lesson, I now strap a desk fan to the side of my computer at any LAN. Sure, its noisy, and overkill, but I love my data.

BIOS chip fried? if a bud will let you, you can test your stuff out on their motherboard and see if that is the problem.

Yea, if u can get access to another comp with a compaitible mother board try a component by component test. Can save u a lot of headache if it's just something simple like- well if it's just one thing then it's cheaper than having some expert computer shop look at it.

    DO NOT DO THAT!!!

Unless you want a very shortlived smoke and disco light machine. I was under the desk with a computer and I flicked the little red switch.. BANG! FSSHSHSSHHSH!!

    You get the idea.

    Sucks to be you comp.

Same kind of thing happend to my trusty ol 350 mhz machine i've had for years. She was a good ol comp, and had tons of stuff like mp3's short stories, homework (when I was still in school) etc. One day it just shuts off. Next thing i know, smoke is coming out of the powersupply, it smells of burning death and a zap crackle suddenly happens.

Unexplained, and unfortunate. I bought a 1.6 ghz With Xp the next day
