Only The Future Can Tell.

U might have seen your future murderer
This is sort of like the conscience thread but its a little different and I didnt want to be an A hole and steer Dread's topic onto mine.

But being a Criminal Justice major I was looking at this huge pschycology poster that was full of baby pictures not too long ago. There were really old black and whites, and faded fuzzy images from the '50s. And newer ones as well.

The top of the poster read Famous People Can you guess who?

Under each picture there was a flip up tab that had the answer of who each baby was. I was thinking there would be lots of famous inventors, presidents, celebs maybe. I was half right. Mixed all together were the childhood pictures of people from accross the spectrum. Everyone from past US idols to serial killers.
A girl was also looking. She said, Hey who is this cutie? She looked under the tab of a small brown headed child sitting in a chair. It was Adolf Hitler.

It just made me think. Where do people change, and how do we all become what we are? I think we are more influenced one way than born to live one way. But also, the next time you go to the local food market just look around at all the little kids and babies. They might grow up to become the next US president, they might find a cure for cancer. Or they might grow up to become a serial killer or a drunk driver that kills your future children. Ahh life is full of mysteries.

therefore, if we could predict the future of people and their path in life, there is a question that needs to be answered....

would they be executed before being allowed to commit these crimes?

I had to do a project about Hitler, and after doing some research, i kinda feel sorry for him. I mean, when he was about 7 he had a bedroom with a window that looked directly out onto his brothers grave (him and his brother were close) and his dad was a complete nutter on top of a **** load of other stuff.

We are made by what we are made by, it's that simple. Maybe 2 different children placed into the exact same environment at birth, and had the same upbringing, maybe they would be different. Unfortunatly it is not humane to test this out, and pretty much impossible even if scientists were allowed to

Adolf Hitler started hating jews because he didn't get in to art-school and the board that decided about it consisted of mainly jewish people. Probably just part of the story but still very entertaining

Btw, as it seems that moderators now allow SOME discussion here, make me proud and keep the flames down.

The element of fairness in life is obviously non-existent. Trials, suffering, and turmoil are out to hunt everyone at least once in their lifetime. And while I am inclined to say that the pain caused by these factors suck in general, they can truly have varying effects people.

People who are strong will make good use of their sufferings; it can teach people to be grateful for what they have, to open their eyes and help others around them, etc. People who are weak will be made bitter by the same suffering. For every action, there is a reaction, and sadly in the latter case, the reaction can become very horrid..

When I read about people who have committed atrocious crimes, the past life/genes of that person should never be the product of that person. They are only factors: they influence you, but you decide who you will be in the end. Other people have also been put in their circumstances and managed to not become the killers/rapists/etc. that they became. But damn it, how would you have turned out placed in that person’s circumstances? Analyzing myself, I am not proud of how well I stand in reacting to suffering. And we also know that people aren’t all made the same; how does it seem that some people are simply born weaker than others?

No use asking questions about “what if” though, other than for interest. The question is

    What now?
