<div class="IPBDescription">somone help please</div> Heyll when I restarted my PC this black screen came up saying

Cannot detect secondary drives (these being my cd/dvd drive and my cd burner)

Press F1 to continue or F2 to go to Setup
If I press F1 The PC starts like normal but if I go to explorer or Open in any program I cant see my D and G drives for my cd player/burner

If I put a dvd in for example it will still try to autorun it but it wont be able too.

WHen I Press F2 and go to setup I can arrow key down to my secondary drives. In there I can select on of 2 options. Auto or OFF. Its default set to Auto and I dont think I want it to off. With these settings enabled I should be able to get thiem to work but they dont.

Anyone have any ideas?

    I'd hazard a guess you've been fiddling around with your ROM drives....

    I suggest putting both your CD-ROM and DVD-Rom on cable select.
    To do this take you need to pull the little tiny connector pin on the back of the of both drives and put them on cable select. (There's a diagram on the bottom of the drives, so don't worry)

    You'll prolly need a pair of tweezers for the job.

    Hope this helps <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I found the problem. As it turns out my IDE cable was dislodged. So all I had to do was open up the case and disconnect blow the crap out, then reconnect them. Thanks for the repsonses though.
