<div class="IPBDescription">Just a quote from a site</div> <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->On Half-Life 2 - It sounds incredible and I have no doubt that VALVe will produce an amazing game. I think every is happy they wait until they had made great progress on it before teasing us.
On moving mods to Half-Life 2 - Moving a HL mod to HL2 probably won't be a simple matter, not if you really want to take advantage of it. The code may or may not be easy to port, but surely all artwork and levels will have to be re-done to take advantage of it's new capabilities. Also, VALVe hasn't given any SDK information to mod authors yet (at least not to the non VALVe-owned ones), so we can't evaluate the cost to move to it yet. Lastly, the system requirements on the new engine will likely be higher then HL, so moving a mod to the new engine doesn't guarantee more players (actually it will probably mean less for quite awhile). That said, the technology looks unbelievable and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Just so everybody can read it.

I'm waiting nearly 6 months for it.

When it's done... We don't have maps... we need more maps... the mappers promised me maps many times...
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->There have also been many questions asked about VALVe's new HL2 engine ("Source"), and whether there are plans to bring NS over to it. That is a huge amount of work, and would require redoing all the artwork and levels at a bare minimum. This is something the team is considering, but haven't made any decisions on yet.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
In other news...postcount++;

There should be a flamethrower but there isn't cause of technical probs.
Aside from that...the flamethrower has been discussed many many times over in the S&I forum, the answer is that we won't see it for a while if ever in simple terms. And anyone waiting on a HL2 NS mod is going to be waiting a LONG time as you will NOT be able to just copy paste code over into the HL2 engine. With all the new functions it's going to have they'll probably have to rewrite the whole mod over again and even after that's done they'll then have to make all new maps. So you'll be playing regular old HL/NS for QUITE a while <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
er... by reading this quote I learn that porting a mod would be long and hard work. Even more considering the amount of work the yet unfinished game that is NS, already great. Sure not perfect graphically, but very near in almost everything else. Rather have a perfect game on HL than an unfinished one on HL2

I like the graphics, I dont like 100% realistic faces, but these are nice, and really some of the (if not THE) best ive seen in a HL mod. As for HL2, who cares really.... so it'll get good reviews BUT will it get game of the year 3 years in a row? hmmm Half-life is a hard game to beat for awards.
