<div class="IPBDescription">how do they attack?</div> Will the lerk spike attack be hitscan? Is it going to go in a straight line or in a projectile path?
Also, does the animation for the attack match the attack now?
spikes are hitscan now and will be still in 1.1 , currently they have an animation that does not show where the spikes hit, ingor it, the spike hit where the crosshair is

But mustn't hitscan weapons hit EXACTLY where you aim them? LMGs, HMGs and most notably shotties are somewhat inaccurate, do they still qualify as hitscan (yes, I admit, I never completely understood the hitscan thingy - never had anyone explain it to me. Anyone wanna try?)?

Those weapons have a cone of fire, which means that the bullet will hit somewhere within that cone. I am not sure, but I assume the place within the cone where it hits is randomly decided for each bullet.
so that means when ive been lining targets up with where the spikes hit, ive been doing absolutely NO damge? great, that explains why i cant kill ppl then :/
Heh, got it in one Angelus. Just stick the crosshair on 'em and down they go. Although of course for the most part, in 1.04, bite is to be preferred over spike.

Well it was just another lerk move... thought I may as well add it...
And no Lerk "tracers" as you called them"
Lerks attack with spikes, spores, umbra, and primal scream. The lerk is supposed to be a "sniper" of sorts (long range attacker) and a support alien.
I thought only the pistol was hitscan.
Hitscan means they hit immediately. Those weapons have a cone of fire, which means that the bullet will hit somewhere within that cone. I am not sure, but I assume the place within the cone where it hits is randomly decided for each bullet.
i allways thought it was like an arc. u shoot up and the come down over distance. like a umm morta. kinda like the poor diagram below.
