Something else i was wondering
There is alot of good music out there of all genres in PC and console games.

Morrowind has lots of excellent classical type music tracks.

The guitar theme to VietCong and the instrumental theme to Mafia is one of my favorites as well.
Also of good note is some of the insturmental scores from the Resident Evil games. The Piano tracks for the save rooms are pretty cool in my opinion.

Oh yea I liked the origional theme to Rainbow 6 too.
Anyone know of any other game with cool soundtracks?

Oh yea I forgot about that one, I liked that one too.

I also know that as crappy/good (your opinion there) as the game was, Battlefield 1942 got an award for its intro video and musical score. Even though it only had like 2 songs lol. I think MOHAA got the award for the previous year.

Halo's soundtrack is pretty good, you can buy it without the game...dunno why you would though...heh.

    Resident Evil is decent too.

Grand Theft Auto (3 or VC)...its part of the game...sorta.

Final Fantasy VII has excellent music too, I don't think there's a soundtrack for it though.

Listening to: REM: So. Central Rain

MOHAA, Zelda, Mario, Star Wars Games, NOLF + NOLF2, Tropico, Crimson Skies, and Rainbow 6. NOLF GOTY had a bonus disc with music on it; it's friggen ULTRA AMAZING. That and Crimson Skies had some good music there.

The MGS2 music is superb. It was made by a Hollywood composer (Harry Gregson Williams if anyone is interested). He did the music for Armageddon. It's pretty cool what you can do with a syn...whatever if you have talent.

I love the 80's music from Vice City.

I'm with SmokeNova. The FFVII soundtrack is made of pure win. Also, the Final Fantasy Concert double CD with full orchestral remakes of the classic tracks from all of the FF titles.

Aeris's theme is one of the greatest pieces of music ever.

That's because Nobou Uematsu is one of my favourite composers.

My all time favourite being Yoko Kanno. She's just a sexy musical goddess.

Someone smack the crap out of Jobabob.

And though others may not care for it, get the japanese theme to the anime Escaflowne, I forget the name of the girl, but she has an awesome voice, I believe she was 13 or 14 when she recorded the song.

I believe her best work to date has been on the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OST.

In particular tracks 12 (Fish Silent Cruise) and 15 (Were the great)

    I hope there's a second OST......

    mechwarrior 2 (not mercenaries)
Unreal Tournament and Unreal, the firsts
    Diablo2 expansion ^^ lol
    Final Fantasy 6
Fallout 1 & 2 intro songs, both in the context of the intros and independently
    and hell yeah,
    -Cowboy Bebop <-anime

    some:
    warcraft series
    c & c series
    doom series
    morrowind

    rtcw had music?

I'm very serious about the recommendations Cowboy Bebop and above. Warcraft etc have some very good songs but not all.. Unreal & UT have a few good songs out of their many.. but b/c there are so many total for them I end up with good sized library of Unreal music.. (it's all drum n bass/techno/industrial tho, or else very mellow chillout/mood music...) actually the same can be said of the games listed later (in that they have a lot of good songs out of a lot of songs total) but I just don't rate them as highly for whatever reason, despite having very good songs
