    Guys, the cone works like this(and why yo should shoot in bursts)-

    The farther away, the bigger the cone area. Also, holding it down longer will increase the area automattically, VERY slightly, decreasing aim. Thank you. Andnow, back to your regular flaming.

    I really dont think this is correct, how could people make happy faces and bad words on the wall if it was generated randomly...they dont all do it with a pistol you know! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Thye do it from close enough range that the spread is insignificant.

    First of all, I am not part of the half he would peepee off when bashing CS. Most of the NS community isn't 13, so Im gonna assume they DONT play CS....Now to important things. Its been my experience that when I shoot at the wall, where my crosshair was, the bullet hole went, go figure =\

    Ugh, right cleanup time.

    Bullet holes (And blood marks / any other instant hit indicator) do not represent where your actual shot landed. HL draws these immediately, their position is decided client side, and they have nothing to do with the 'correct' server version of events.

    If you fire a hmg at a wall, the spread of bullet holes that you see on the wall infront of you is completely different to the spread of holes that another player, standing next to you sees. HL only draws them to reassure you that bullets are coming out, and because it 'looks right'. Do not take them as an aiming indicator.

    There is no recoil in NS. By recoil, i am referring to weapon accuracy that varies depending on your movement, or how long you have been firing for. The very first bullet you fire out of an LMG is subject to the same random firing cone that the 49th bullet you fire is subject to. As was previously stated.

    <img src='http://www.oclube.com/usuarios/teoh/firingcone.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

    The red cross is your crosshair, the black circle is your weapons firing cone. When you press fire your shot lands randomly somewhere in this circle. The circle does not change size, ever, regardless of how you are moving or how long you've held the fire button down for. You are thinking of CS or similar mods.

    As for smiley faces on walls - Try making one yourself from a few meters away with an LMG. Doesn't look very good does it? Now go view it from another person's perspective and you'll probably find that it looks like a perfect face (assuming you can aim).

    As i stated at the beginning, bullet marks do not represent where your shots land, and they are not synced serverside.
