Gore

Game of the year?
4D rulers have released a demo of their latest game Gore. You should really try it, the weapon models/sounds are great and it's a change from those realism games companies keep on releasing. You can download the demo here
the game runs even on low end machines (i'm using a pII 350, riava tnt, 192 ram and the game runs fine with all settings on high in 640*480) don't let this fool you, the graphics are really good d:)

I'll be sure to download it.
Yep, and right now in IRC we're getting inside info.. AI was added last min. and GORE is mainly an MP game, they had to add SP to demo becuase of a contract.
Still turned out quite fun in the end, though. Especially the skeleton hordes once everything goes wrong, heh...
It is really fun and high paced, and you are always moving.
I recommend at least downloading and trying the demo, it convinced me to buy the game. Only problem is I need a bit of money first
The demo ran fine on at 1280x1024 with all the details cranked to max on my system. (1.3ghz P4, 256mb RAM, and GF2 MX 400) It looked pretty good, not amazing like some newer games, but still very nice.

Really? Awesome! Shatter is indeed his nickname.
He's also the man responsible for the original Q2 DM map "Crate DM" in which the player models are replaced with boxes -- it later spawned a similar Q2 mod (which he wasn't too fond of, heh) and Boxwar for HL.

Do i qualify as a gore god now ? Can't wait to get my hands on the full version, i like SP better than MP tho, MP isn't that balanced imo
1. The voice acting sounded a little cheesy
2. The walk animations peeved me. It just looks like characters are gliding around, running a generic walk animation that makes them "look" like they are walking. Turning and strafing animations seem non-existent.
3. In The UMC Cube map, if you take out the flame thrower and walk right up to one of the glass-paneled railings, firing the flame thrower will not result in a loss of ammo. I assume this is a bug, but it means that if you do this, you can flame all you want until someone figures out they can just hit you at long range with something. Still, for those who know about it, could be a problem for others.
Keep in mind that all voice acting was done by the team in a small room in the back that doubles as an in-house sound studio.
gore was the second FPS I played, and Very, very fun, though people can be a bit lame at times and survive some ungodly things..however, sniping was amusing..even if I did never zoom much, and the fatigue system is something I was very interested in. All in all, I suggest you buy gore, atleast to tide you until NS comes out. I don't think you'll regret it. Besides, nothing beats Gas-Nade Spamming people =op
just for the heckle N jeckle of it.
I too downloaded and played the game, and it looked very polished on my system (which really is nothing special). I was having a blast running around punching the black guys who have the beer cans... hehehe.
But one thing I didn't really get was that the friendly AI refuses to stay away from those guys... well it refuses to move around much at all, resulting in their unavoidable deaths. I just think that if one of those huge guys were in my face, I'd be running like hell.
The 360 spins, wiping out three people with your dual ingrams was fun, too.

In that case, the voice acting was pretty good. If it was professional voice acting, I would have fired them
Actually, Brutus (guy with the beer) is Cuban and has... tendencies. I'll not even hint anything about Shaun Patrick, since that's fairly obvious in and of itself.
You'd be surprised how in-depth they went for each character just for a better idea of how to model and animate them as well as what they should sound like.
/me buys the game.
I downloaded the Gore Test 2 but there were no servers in NZ, it looks great (IMO) smooth too on my p.o.s. computer. Although when I switched the resolution to 1024x768 (and found out my monitor doesn't support it) I couldn't change it back, does it have a test resolution button now?
It's kinda funny, I spent ages downloading the demo at 56k, then about an hour later I had ###### it up, but not before deleting the zip CURSES YOU SMALL HD!!
