New Mod: Mod Wars

How about one that copies all of them!

I've had this idea in my head for a while now. I put together a design doc for it (NS had one- see overmind.org - Mine pales in comparison, but Flayra's a professional <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> ). I imagine I'd be team leader and coder- I know C++ but I haven't done anything with HL Engine yet. So it'd be a learnign process. Anyway, the basic concept.
Its a class based team play mod. There are 2 teams, 'Good Guys' and 'Bad Guys' from popular genres. Maps are made of 'Zones' which change game mechanics. If you fight in the WWII zone, you have realistic damage. If you fight in the Space Zone, you have arcade damage. You effectiveness depends on your class and what zone you're fighting in. Zones will be intertwined and theere will be multiple zones of each kind on a map. Each map has 4 objectives (Control Points, Bomb, Eliminate (points for kills) and Capture the flag.)- and only certain classes can complete certain objectives. There is more detail on this in design document. Its in word format. PM if you can't handle that format and I'll send it in plain text.

Good luck. I'd help you if I could, but I'm gonna be working on a HL2 mod sometime in August or so.
Counter-strike guys should have the special ability of runing faster if they use the knife.

The Sturmtruppe was a German Class of Soldier. Also here's a List of weapons the German's had.

The bad guy team consits of an Onos, a German, and a few Terrorists.
They chase a TSA Marine, a few US and British WW2 soldiers and a Navy Seal all the way from the city of Caen_2 to the beaches of Normandy. The good guys try to make a stand in the Assault warehouse after crossing the hot sands of Dust 2, but they are flushed out by a combo of stick grenades, Lerk Spores, and AK bullets. They have to get in their good guy space ship called Nancy and try to get to Hera Station for safety! Will they make it?

As for the mod, well...seeing as I haven't exactly looked at the design doc, since it's after midnight and I'm about to go to bed, I can't really say, but it sounds like it could be fun. Sort of a fun combination of the best mods. Perhaps I'll take a closer look when I'm not so tired.
Its the ideas, not the facts that matter at this point. Greasegun was just the KIND of gun I wanted him to have- quickfiring but not that powerful. And don't tell me that the greasegun was really powerful. It isn't in this version.
And these would be custom models, so they would try to capture the feel of exsisting intellectual property, but it won't use the same models like Bumper Cars. :-)
