    Being qualified as a rookie lifeguard i'll say this, hes doing it all wrong, you swim front crawl till your nearby, then breast stroke to a few meters away, you talk to them and keep them calm then put them in the life saving stroke position.
    Getting in the water is the last thing you do not the 1st.
