Fade uses this, which takes a lot of energy, and a duplicate of him appears with the same hit points as the original fade, but no ability to do damage. The player sees through the new fade and gets to control him, while the real fade stays behind at the spot he used the ability. Using the ability again destroys the fake fade with no energy cost and returns the player to the real fade. It would suit the fade's role of steath and trickery pretty well.
Sort of like an aura weapon, when out it slowly drains energy and partially blinds marines nearby. The longer and closer the fade is around, the worse the blindness, and after the fade switches away from the weapon, the blindness fades off in about 3 seconds.
Another one, when out it changes the fade's sounds into the gorge's, possibly fooling marines into rushing in and trying to blast the "gorge". (okay that one is not so good)
A "stealth venom" stinger that when used on teammates, gives them partial cloaking while running, celerity, and partial silence. Fades would use it on players that need to get past a heavy marine location without being noticed, or possibly fight a short battle with an advantage.
Hrm.. what ability could the FADE have.. hrm.. what about... FADING? lolz... What if it had the ability to be completely cloaked, and completely silent... but that drained the energy bar.. it could last for a few seconds, while the fade runs in, and uses it's other attackes to take aminres unawares

Toes. Think about it. The lerk has them (just look at Coil's chibi Kharaa!), the Onos has them (he just can't use them to draw on an etch-a-sketch -- also see Coil's chibi Kharaa), so the Fade must be jealous by now.
Toe power: The adrenaline bar must be full when this ability is started. By holding the fire key, the adrenaline bar is drained at a slow, constant rate -- almost as long as an upgrade evolution. When it empties completely, an announcement on the screen says <u>"You have grown a mutated human toe!"</u>.
With the toe, the Fade can...um...go to a team Gorge (let's add teamwork!), slice the toe off (what else are those Fade arms good for?), and tell the Gorge "web this toe to the bottom of my foot!" The Gorge should then do so. With the human-like toe on his foot, the Fade can then go to a marine proximity mine placed on the floor. The fade steps on the mine, making sure the toe makes contact first, and twists his leg around a bit so the toe sticks to the top of the mine, disabling it (it's convinced there's nothing but humans around.)
Teleport, brings up a commandermode style map, and the fade chooses where to teleport to. Depending how far away it is (or perhaps nano-gridlock if that idea is ever put in) the teleport takes longer/is more difficult. But then when the fade is through, it's pwnage time.
Imagine a bunch of fades all teleporting to the marine base at once; how cool would that be?
LOL we need that toe in the mod <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> finaly a way do disable mine ! yay

<b><u>Disruptor</u></b> <b>Range</b>: Infinite <b>Damage</b>: Minimal (10, at most) <b>Energy Cost:</b>: 45% <b>Projectile Speed</b>: Medium <b>Description</b>: From his shoulder, the Fade fires a bubble of superheated, compressed air, held together by a thin but strong membrane. Upon hitting an obstacle, be it a wall, marine, etc. the ball violenty explodes allowing the pressurized gasses to violently escape outwards. The result causes any nearby marines to be suddenly 'thrown' out of the way, and tossed aside like ragdolls. Though they suffer no ill effects aside from the displacement, the affected marines would no doubt be in a state of confusion, at least for a few moments.
<b><u>Snare</u></b> <b>Range</b>: Medium <b>Damage</b>: None <b>Energy Cost</b>: 25% initial, 4% per second during <b>Projectile Speed</b>: Very Fast <b>Description</b>: The Fade shoots forth a long, slimy tentacle that latches onto any marine (or surface) it hits. If a marine is hit, the tentacle will slowly draw him into the Fade so long as the Fade is on the ground. If the Fade is in the air, it will be pulled towards the marine instead. The marine will be unable to move or use his jetpack, but he will be able to shoot. If the tentacle is damaged at any time, it will retract back into the Fade and the marine will be released.
As a second function, the Snare will also latch onto any solid surface it is touching and will retract, pulling the Fade towards the surface. This process only occurs if the Fade is not on the ground.
Heh good idea. barnicle weapon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> would be much easier than coding a new weapon from scratch lol

I've found the easiest wayt o down a fade is to backstab it. So how about a counter for that... The fade can grow a bloated sac on his back. When he is attacked from behind, the sac explodes leaving heavy damage spores. Oh yeah, and a farting noise is heard...

You know in the matix reloaded with the twin white guys?
What if the Fade could do the same things as them? The Fade would go hologramish, take and give no damage, go through marine/alien structures and heal faster. The only con would be once used it can not be stopped until the hole energy bar is drained.

I like the fade parasite idea with a little tweakage. You parasite them and it shows up on the marine as a regular parasite, but the fade parasite also makes it that when they die babblers or tiny fades spawn out of their bodies. It would have to take a lot of energy but I think 50% would be good. IT would be hilarious someone keeps getting fade para'd at spawn and kills himself to get rid or the para but then babblers pop out and start chewing up the base. Invisible para fade.
