jees people, do read the faq the is bad, it hardly provides any info and for people to look at the faq does not really answer alot lol.. Stop saying look at the faq jees its old..When was the faq written? and how much is already known about the game that the testers know and wont tell? <span style='color:red'>*We aren't allowed to tell, as many aspects change weekly, and we don't want rumours starting each week*</span> So dont get offended when people ask something simple.. dont spazz out if they missed 1 line in the faq that they missed if it makes u that mad that they did not read then thats weird lol.. as for the fact that they did not look at the forum is a mixed opinion. the forum is huge and to read all the questions can get old if they want a quick answer.. just give people some slack and dont be so snobby.. im just mad at work right now dont get mad it will be ok just a few more months of summer then back to school jees life sucks the big one we eat sleep and die sure we do stuff in the middle but thats all we realyl do were like parasites and if any one tries to argue read the forum !!! the answer is in their the answer to life is in the forum find it and get a doller!!!

<span style='color:red'><b>***Edited for excessive annoyed parts and inablitlity to write simple words like the and FAQ***</b></span> (Psst, Capitals + periods usually increase how seriously people take a post, try using them)

woah man, calm down, we only say read teh FAQS because it really helps to clear up those really dumb remarks... sorry if the FAQ doesn't suit your needs, but for the most part i think it does its job, also, have YOU been reading the forums faqs at all? because thats where the majority of forum information comes into play... also... not to sound mean, but you should look at your spelling mistakes a bit... <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

It's not snobbery, and sorry you got a negative first impression... Basically, NS is a *very* complicated mod in terms of what it's trying to do (though the essence is pretty simple&#33<!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->, and having to re-explain every nuance to every new poster (and there have been many) would take a long time!

That's why we suggest that newcomers read the FAQs (there are a bunch, and they're a bit scattered, and not always completely up-to-date - we're sorry&#33<!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo--> - to give you a general background.  Additionally, a lot of questions not in the FAQs have been answered in the Forums or at least discussed... a forum search can be very enlightening.

The developers are working their butts off to get this mod polished and released as quickly as possible, which is why the FAQs haven't been updated recently... trust us, it's for the best, and you'll love NS when it's finally out.  (:

Heh, in honour of that maybe we should make a faq about the importance of spelling, grammer, and punctuation in getting the desired message across.

Just to let you know, we do and try and update the FAQ's, heck, I have a text file on my desktop. It always has some new FAQ questions I could add if they get asked one more time.
Now, you are getting all mad at us for saying please read the FAQ. If everyone goes to the pool, and asks if they can dive into the shallow end, while a sign is on the wall saying "NO DIVING", do you think a life guard would just point to the sign and tell them to read, most likely. I do have an outside life, and I don't need to sit here, and be a robot, 50 questions, over and over and over. I can easily slap a link to the FAQ, tell the reader to check there and move on. FAQ = effective, but readers = lazy <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

Heck, even I forget if stuff has been asked sometimes, and I am lazy too. I still use the search function to do a 5 minute look around though, cause you can usually find out 10 more things in the process that you didn't know either.

Yeah, we don't hate "newbies" around here. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> I think most people here do a wonderful job of welcoming new people here, and pointing the FAQ's out first off seems to have turned into a precaution or habit, really. It's absolutely nothing personal. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

(Also keep in mind that if one person is rude to you, it doesn't mean the whole community is like that. That sort of stuff just happens. I haven't seen it (I don't pay close enough attention), but I have a feeling that's what may have happened.)

Going off of what ken said... ken basically said not all of us are immediatly one way if you get that impression, that is certainly true, none of us are trying to be mean or anything, were just telling you these things so that you have a better understanding of everything...

You don't get any bad rep for being told "read the faq."  I was given the same treatment (my question was on alien levels) and look at me now!

Part of the thing about the FAQs is that the FAQs say to read the ReadyRoom, which -is- a very good resource of information.

Asking questions like what weapons/aliens/abilities/commander stuff will be in when its all listed on a single site does tend to annoy people.

If I could make reading the FAQ a -requirement- to posting, complete with multiple choice test over the basics of the mod, I would. But I don't think that the code of the board supports that.

Yeah, The Readyroom has tons of information, plus lots of special features.

Today I installed WinXP on my other comp (still some problems configuring the network so still no internet there) and thanks to the Windows Tuning section at RR.org I've gotten lots of useful tips for stuff to do during and after installation. (Thanks MonsE)

There, now I don't need to make a new thread in off-topic thanking MonsE and talking about how great XP is. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

This is why I read EVERYTHING I can about a game/mod/whatever before I go into the forums. Too many people just dive right in and get confused, and then feel insulted when the more experienced people get annoyed with them because they're doing the same things hundreds of other newbies have done.

Remember: Read as much as you can before you go and do somethin' that's already been done! Otherwise, in the real world, you'll get sued for copyright infringement! <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

I didn't use my forum account for about a month and just read stuff. I don't think any one had to yell FAQ at me. It does help to read up a bit, not neccecary but it helps. (and yes i am aware i suck at spelling)

Amazing how you've never read the FAQ, yet your sig pic is at the -precise- limits of the allowable size for a picture in a signature, as its listed in the FAQ...
