Two guys actually tried to climb that wall. Everyone thought they were die hard Elton John fans because he just so happened to be playing there at the time. Damn that was in the tabloids for ages.

I've never been to Bonnyrigg, looks nice though. Edinburgh is great, been there many a times. Did you visit the zoo? lol.

Hope you enjoyed your trip mate.

Not only that but it has the most powerful left-wing man in the country as mayor.

    Good old "Red" Ken Livingstone.

Anyway congratulations Monse I hope you two are very happy (she is a lovely lady), although I can't help but wonder why you didn't visit Zimbabwe <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

Man, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE I talked to in London seems to hate Ken Livingston. They were mad about Trafalgar Square. They were mad about The Eye. They were mad about the Millenium Dome. They were FURIOUS about the traffic congestion chages.

They were mad about just about everything the guy ever had his name close to. So why do you keep electing him mayor???

We thought about Zimbabwe, as well as North Korea, Russia, and some other places where they are currently slaughtering their own people by the thousands. We finally picked the UK because we wanted to slaughter our own selves with the worst italian and mexican food in the history of the human race.

    pwnt. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Thanks again everyone! This damned topic just won't die!!!

PS: If you made another egg building like that, and got the Mothership building in camera, you'd have what appear to be the world's largest male genitalia. Seems like somebody's feeling inadequate in europe...?

The English are great fans of dodgy buidling shapes, here are just two examples

Roofle. There sure were a lot of italian 'ristorantes' though. Here's a good italian phrase to describe the british take on neapolitan cuisine:

    "crap insipido"

J/K we had a great time and everyone was at great pains to be nice to us, the horrible lost continental cousins. We tried to return the favor by dressing in dark muted clothes, not wearing shorts, and talking in quiet voices. Our own brand of American Ambassadorship. I would actually cringe when I heard loud yammering American tourists from the midwest. (Lisa is of former southern aristocracy, and they feel the same way about loud boorish behavior as the Brits....).

LOL its funny you should say that about the guys trying to climb the wall. lmao I tottaly forgot about this. Me and my 2 mates when i was about 14 free climbed up to the wall (not over it lol we werent that crazy) and waved to everyone on Princess Street below. We thought it was absolutly hilarious at the time and to this day I have NO idea how the hell we got up there nor did we consider how dangerous this feat was. Man that cliff is HIGH if you look at it from a distance and also there is no path up it.

To this day I cannot explain how we got up there. Man that brought back memories of my childhood death wish days. Well at least I can say I lay siege to Edinburgh Castle for 20 mins lol.

Well it was built to keep out invaders so I <b>think</b> that's why it is easy to get up to. lol.

Well, y'know that stupid "mothership" looking building. I can see that from my office window, heh, took me a while to realise, but it's possible.

Too many big buildings around, it obscures such a monstrosity, thank god.

I thought you'd said nothing had happened in my absence, fer crying out loud.

    GG congrats Monse.

Its weird, I've seen a load of those places, London, and Edinburgh once or twice - I was wondering what filter you used to make it all look so bright and cheery?

You know, with all the castle, and the ballroom and the beautiful furnishings, I'm reminded of a film....

    ...

    ...

...ah yes, beauty and the beast. Poor Lisa.
