Light Machine Gun

Shhhh I was working on this last night, and here it is.

http://www.geocities.com/absolut_tempest/lmg.html

The Barrel is like the MG42 kinda sorta, and the holes will be created with the new transparency dll. Aren't you glad I didn't model the holes in? So the polys are only around 1,100.

The magazine is based off of a beta C, but it's not quite a beta C, because its only 50 rounds, plus when I tried to put half a beta C on there, it just looked silly.

Its based off of this gun:

Cheerz0rz!

looks bit beefy and unwieldy...better as a HMG replacement. it kinda gets at the aura of the LMG (fast, furious, quick). but still, it would make a very purdy replacement. expecially the source picture that you based yours on. looks uber nice.
*looks around too see if enforcer is around...*
    OMG I CREAMED MY PANTS!!!!11 j/k

no..its not feeding from below.. only the ammo box is below the weapon.the weapon is still beltfeedet from the side.. on the box you can see the "feedingtunnel" that gets up the side of the weapon, where the belt should enter the weapon..

Random thought: you've got a sight on the front of the gun, and a handle on the top. Unfortunately, the handle either makes it impossible to look through the sight, or suggests a posture like that of the smartgun, rendering such a sight useless.
  • sheena_yanaisheena_yanai Join Date: 2002-12-23 Member: 11426Members
coil..maybe the sight was there before the handle was installed

Actually, the weapon is designed for reflexive shooting for close quarters combat, with it's oversized forward sight.
Both "pointing quick fire" and "instinctive shooting" are possible with the weapon. One would be bringing the weapon to bear by concentrating on the target, and bringing the rifle up and firing as it nears the proper position, walking the bullets on target, and the other is when you use only the front sight apeture to quickily engage a target. Both of which are only useful for close combat, but hey, its natural selection, it's always close combat

and as always, you can grasp the weapon around the barrel if you need to and use the rear handle as a temporary rear sight. Or, if you really dislike it, I can just remove the rear handle and give it regular sights rather than weakly trying to justify myself

thats exactly what i was thinking... and does anyone else notice the scope cant be used cos of the handle?

Actually, if you had bothered to read everything, yes, that has been mentioned.
