I thought one of Nem's arguments for this fix is that it protects the "atmosphere". Won't the atmosphere still be ruined if aliens can jump a lot? If you are going to say "They're ALIENS! Aliens can do anything!" I'll say "well then the tsa can give their soldiers super high tech space age doo-dad drugs so they can jump a lot".
I also remeamber Flayra previously saying the new fix would allow marines to jump all they want but still have Bhoping disabled.

A horde of skulks, bouncing and leaping & screaming along down the corridor towards you, all intent on being the first to find out if you can still breathe with that funny squishy thing in your chest removed, looks 'right' as such, both mentally & in game.
A Marine leaping 3 feet into the air, over a skulk whilst he pistols it, doesn't. Can you imagine Hicks & Co. screaming to each other 'Jump around! It seems to confuse them!' ?
Six Days in Sanjii:

The point is, who cares if they do. It looks 'right' to have skulks able to do it, and seems 'wrong' for marines to do it.

OMG, throw them with water! They seem to die when they touch water and yet they landed here with no bodyarmor armed only with a sprayer that has range of 10centimeters. Guess they just didn't notice all those lakes and oceans and water all around this planet.

Spoiler Warning! On the other hand, if you haven't seen "Signs", take my advice and use the money on something else instead.
Oh man, I just loved that movie. God kills the wife of the guy and makes her mention a baseball bat, gives his son asthma, his daughter an obsession with water that tastes strange, and makes ALIENS invade THE EARTH, all in order to show him that everything happens for a reason and he should become a priest again (neat side-effect: all the dead people after the alien invasion mean he's got lots of people to bury. Now THAT'S what I call job security!).
Gets my approval. That's the way it should have been in cs too.
I have yet to hear of anyone jumping up and down in combat. Diving yes. Bunnyhoping no. Try to think about it realisticaly(yes I know its a game, bare with me). A marine's best shot at survival should not be hopping around. It looks lame and is totally impossible. A marine should have a better chance at survival by staying with a group, staying cool, and blasting the skulk with as much accuracy as possible. Hopping around with this dog type thing yapping at your heals should not work. That is the atmosphere and gameplay that Nemesis is talking about.
You bring up a good point. I wonder if bhoping had never been in the first time around, would people moan about this? Hardly.
Would they have begged for a Bhop feature? NO way in hell they would.
But people have grown too used to the power the bhop gives over the aliens, and all I can say is this:
HAHAHA time to use some real aiming skill not your bhop of doom where your legs have titianum plaiting taking all the abuse for you.
This is a typical attitude of people frustrated that they can't bunnyhop, or cope with people who do. The removal of bunnyhopping won't cripple my game by any means, but it is kind of grating to see so many ignorants hooting about their disability being taking away.
As for bunnyhopping: It's fine that it's removed. It's insane anyway to hop to your heart's content. While you can hop up once or twice, have you ever tried to dodge a rabid dog by jumping? Humans are probably the poorest equipped animals to handle close quarters combat with a predatory animal, So it makes sense that if a skulk gets close, you better put it to sleep and FAST or you're lunch.

I wholehaertedly agree..but if u guys really wanna get specific then the onos should have a great disadvantage in jumping too..i mean how heavy is the thing? like 400-600 lbs is my guess..how can this beast jump around so much..(but then again who even bothers jumping with em seeing as he takes up the space of most hallways lol )
People shouldn't have to resort to cheating to be able to get a fair playing ground. The presence of a bug which there is no known way of fixing without redoing the entire physics system or hampering the game in some way or the other does not imply this bug is acceptable nor should be used.
As for people bunnyjumping backwards with a skulk are essentially immortal because marines do lots of damage ranged, but the skulk cannot do much damage without closing the distance between them. BJ does not allow a non-cheater to do that.
And as for you all "It takes skill" people, it may take training or a script to abuse the bug, but that still doesn't justify you exploiting it.
im not fine with it ive been against marines backing up at 0.7 mph since i first played this game

I just love the way that supporters of bhopping automaticaly assume that the ONLY reason people don't like it is because they can't do it. Well I'll throw my lot in here and say the following: I can bhop and I use it in TFC. It's become a part of that game and the deathmatch type atmosphere supports it. Should it be in NS? Only on skulks in my opinion. The general feel of a skulk being able to do this does fit the concept of them being fast, agile little attackers. Marines, hell NO.
The devs have stated until they are blue in the face that the marines are about the TEAM, not individual skills. One players' "elite" |3h0pp1|\|g should not be the reason for a marine victory. Nor should a vanilla marine be able to move way faster than a skulk. Jetpacks and phase gates are the marine methods of rapid transportation, not the ability to exploit a physics bug
I play as marine heaps in NS, and very frequently achieve wins with teamwork, communication and orgainisation. I don't bhop in NS. hence the attitude of many which seems to be "omg no bhopping marines r gonna be pwned!!1111" is, as far as I'm concerned, incorrect and ill-founded.
