Net_sendpacket Error: Wsaeintr

<div class="IPBDescription">I need help and please dont say "SEARCH"</div> I know that I will get responses that say "use goggle" or "search the forums". I DID all of that. I have tried every fix/link to a fix I could find!

It is the same sad story, but with a twist. The problem is that when I connect to a server I get the Topic Title as an error in a Windows error box and then hl quits.

I am running Win2K, NOT Win XP.
I have disabled QoS RSVP in my Services. I can't find QoS Packet Sender for Win 2000.
I have tweaked with the settings for my nic.
I have tweaked with the cl settings in my config.ini
I have added the vcache stuff in my system.ini

I play at work where we have a hardware firewall. I am not sure if we have a software firewall. I have been playing since Nov/2002 without any problems. The one time I got this problem was when I added a small enet hub between me and my wall connection to our LAN. When i removed the hub it went away. Recently the IT guys changed out a switcher in the server closet. Now I can't play no matter what! I tied all of the above stuff and no go! Someone needs to find a way to stop this problem. If they do we need to web this topic and get the word out to fellow HL sites! It sounds like people are suggesting that it is Windows thinking there is a problem (when there really isn't and you could play just fine) and when Windows tries to tell you this, it crashes the game. Couldn't someone find a way to stop Windows from giving this information as an error box? Or couldn't someone patch HL so it doesn't crash when the error appears?

Please? Could at least a forum mod respond so I know someone is reading this?

Disabling QoS works for XP, but since you don't have XP well...

Anyway, just awhile for a reponse, since people might've not had this problem yet.

I beleive that WSAEINTR means that packets are out of order, hence why a Packet scheduler would mess things up. I'm assuming your playing on your work's network when I say that if there is a computer that sends packets to/from the network line and if it has a packet scheduler that that also might be the problem, but you may not have access to that computer to 'change' <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> things on it. I'm not completely sure on this because im not an IT expert and my last networking class whas a while ago, but I beleive this may be the problem.
