<div class="IPBDescription">Ppl take gaming a little to seriously...</div> Ok, I am 16, and the only thing I really play on my computer is NS and once and a while I check the website and the forums for the latest news. That is about it. I play maybe an hour or 2 about every other day, but that is about it. The thing that is bothering me though is that when ever I join a server or game, I run into an increasingly large amount of people who take the game WAY to seriously! I thought that games were something that a person does to have fun, but the people I run into are always in a bad mood or very edgy. They let things in the game make them very mad and cause them to get into huge verbal brawls and some people even get banned! And over the stupidest things to! One guy got banned from a server b/c he wasn't that good! That is taking it a little extreme. Now some of you people may argue that he was "ruining" it for everyone else, but if a person never gets the chance to learn, then they can't get better! Another good example of people going to extremes that are utterly rediculous when it comes to computer games happened to a few hours ago actually. I was on some random server, and was playing as a marine. My parents were talking to me so I wasn't exactly the most responsive person on the team, whiched caused me to get killed about 5-6 times. Also, I do not know the names of all of the places, on all of the maps in NS. I think that if person really does know the names of all the places, that it is a little sad, or pathetic even. So, anyway, the people on the server immideatly jumped on me, calling me a "newb" b/c I kept dying, and started screaming at me to rush to some "zone" or "sector" or "refinery" or something and quite frankly, I don't know the names of the places in the maps. The people started LITERALLY screaming into their mics, cursing, and yelling, and wouldn't even bother showing me or telling where it was located when I asked.
In conclusion, you people just need to chill out. It's Just a game... Not your life.

    Welcom to the forums btw my Scottish brethren (I live in Edinburgh). Well all I can say is don't play on random servers. You are gonna come across immature guys like that all the time so you should jus learn to deal with it. There a number of good well respected servers around with good people running and playing in them. I'm sure some of the others will direct you to some of these servers.

    Alot of people that play HL are still living with thier parents. So they are all like "Dam parents suck they dont understand me!" so they take it out online. Mr. Evil has a nice term he uses "teen angst."

    Also some people think of HL as more then a game. There are events like www.thecpl.com where people compete for money. Alot of people probably are looking for a good clan to play in a leauge like CAL. They are to stupid to get IRC and look for one so they try and show off by wining in pubs.
