<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone ever used one?</div> I'm considering buying a PCI capture card for
my PC so I can get some Halo footage of my
cousin and I blowing the hell out of some Warthog's.
(very funny stuff! Especially when it lands on your head)
Basically we wanna get the footage onto the PC and
then into .avi or mpeg (maybe even .mov) format.

Can anyone tell me what wires i'd need, and
what price capture cards go for?

if anyone here has managed to get footage from
their X-Box or VCR via a capture card or any other
methods, i'd love to hear about it and how it was done.

Any and all replies much appreciated as I've been wanting
to do this since i got my X-Box.

I'm pretty sure everything is in the box.
But you can always go with (I'm not sure I'm not too good with TV stuff)

golden plated cables (well the outlet things are plated, not the cable.. better conductivity etc..) of Peritel (well that's European so maybe there's none of that where you live) AV out things, etc...

I would say the prices go from about 50 bucks (er Euros.. blah) to maybe a couple hundred, depending on whether you want a tuner with it, useless stuff etc.

Of course I'm not really sure if we're talking about the same thing but who cares <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well I need a method of connecting the
PC to the X-Box (or PC to VCR) to capture footage.

The back of the X-Box only seems to have an RJ-45
slot free (for connecting multiple X-Box's).
But the standard aerial slot might be usuable. Who knows?

Anyone with actual experience of doing what i'm
    attempting would be great.

Ehm, i really never connected an Xbox to a pc but...

You said that there are no connectors left... Hmmm..

But at least... You could try a firewire or USB...

If you want to do somthing really good and with style, buy yourself a Matrox RT2000 (2 cards, adobe premier, break box, everything you need...)

ATI TVWonder is probably one of the easiest to get going since drivers for most OS's are readily available. The LE (mono sound) version is also pretty cheap.

There are a TON of tv tuner cards though and you should be able to connect almost any of them to your x-box and record stuff.

yeah I (trying to help with my limited knowledge) think that you can send the thingy out to the TV then send it to the computer with the TV in.

Either that or you can plug directly your xbox to the comp (which seems to be what you want to do) If you can't find this go check the first way maybe <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Well my connections available are:
    21 Pin SCART
    Standard TV RF
Red White & Yellow Wires (Phono?)
and the RJ45 on the back on the X-Box.

I have an ATI 9000 (128 DDR) with SVID out on
the back (i think it's SVID, will check later).
