Weird Idea...

<div class="IPBDescription">Just Struck Me</div> What if someone made one large gun, and the one gun was the basis for all the weapons.

Let me clarify. Imagine that all marine weapons had the same v model, with only small differences.

A better idea would be to make 3 weapons...Possibly a pistol/knife, LMG/Shotty, HMG/GL.

Just a weird idea, since the whole idea of being able to switch weapons within 1 second was always kinda silly.

But imagine a pistol then switching to your knife slot and having your hand tilt to the side and revealing a large sharp edge...let me show Sids concept to illustrate my idea.

Now imagine if his "trigger guard" was a sycthe like weapon also.

Its kind of a strange idea, but it would strike me as interesting to be in a large fire fight, pulling out my pistol emptying the magazine then tilting it to the side and using it as a knife.

Its pretty late for me right now, so bear with any flaws in my post. But i think the idea is pretty novel.

    well yeah, would be pretty cool..... thing was if you pressed "q" or "3" for knife in the middle of a fight, chances are the pistol is in the middle of an anim, and isn't at the starting point of the knifes anims.... so there would a flick where it moves from wherever to the new animations starting point... just looks a bit glitchish, but yah this idea would be cool...

    Like this, but less lame.

    Just so you guys kinda get what im saying better.

    Same swipe kinda animations, something like having the pistol angled 45 degree to the right, revealing the blade.

    It could work, I suppose, but the difficulty comes in "picking up" a weapon like a shotgun, GL, HMG, or mines. How do you show that?

    I suppose just pulling out the same weapon again, but the angle or the way the gun is being held is completely different.

    Something to that degree.

    Then again, just a Pistol / Knife model could be made.

    It really is non-sensical to have a weapon that was both a LMG and a Shotgun because you couldn't have them at the same time. Whereas, having a pistol and a knife was always standard, with the exception of mines.

    you could show the wepon models as attachments for the main shell. so the deploy anim for a gun would show the hand attaching the weapon to the shell (I'm picturing the p90 reload animation from CS).

    another idea is [the pulse rifle has a nade launcherunderneath] so u could use the ordinary lmg as a pulse rifle then u pick a nade launcher up and its a pulse rifle execpt u hold it a bit diferent and pump it after each shot like in the movie

    just a funny idea

    Anyway, the idea of a uber-weapon was in a game, i don't really remember... But you had one gun with all the nifty stuff in it... The rifle, shotgun, rocket launcher and some others...

    VERY interesting.. This kind of idea has sort of been mentioned before, in Sheena Yanai's armoured suit thread, where they were thinknig of weapons. ANyway, this is my idea, and this can fit in picking up weapons.
    LMG/HMG/Gren are all one weapon...
    But what happens is the LMG is the base weapon, and then when you pick up a HMG, he screws on another part on the LMG, making it into a HMG. SAme thing with GREN. So, the ground models will just look like little add-ons, like an underslung gren laucher. Thats my idea, and i dont think it would be possible to fit the pistol in there, but hey.

    I was thinking 3 seperate "ground models"

    One ground model would be a pistol,which would act as a pistol/knife.

    Another would serve as a LMG/Shotgun.

    Then HMG/GL

    Kind of like

    Light (Pistol/knife)
    Medium (LMG/SG)
    Heavy (HMG/GL)

    All would be different ground models, which allows a little more contrast to the idea of just one weapon.

    its probably too much work, and probably will never be made. Nice idea.
