<div class="IPBDescription">We got hit AGAIN! :(</div>Well damn it. Tonight a second tornado came very close to where I live. This time though instead of going east, it went north, up towards UCO where I go to school. There is a lot of damage, but since its dark they really won't know how much damage has been done until the morning. But early reports seem to indicate that even though the tornado itself wasn't as strong as yesterdays, today it went through a much more populated area, so there is probably more damage.

Also, this one ripped across almost half the state, lasting much much much longer than the last one. It started to the west of Oklahoma City in some small towns and just went right across the whole damned north side of town...

Nobody really knows anything as of now because really the only shots we have are from helicopters w/ spotlights.

Nah. Actually we really hardly ever get any Tornado action here in the city. I mean there's warnings every year and all, but 1999 and just today&yesterday are the only times in my lifetime that we've actually been hit.

As far as fearing for my life, not really. We have sirens all over the state for this sort of thing, and our weathermen obviously have more expertise about tornados than anybody else. We're as prepared for this stuff as you possibly could be. Its a much better situation than say the hurricanes in Florida or the earthquakes in California. After all, nobody has died because everybody was ready to take cover and whatnot.

Plus an incredible sense of apathy helps ^_^

yeah, i think people can prepare for hurricanes and tornados.. earthquakes just happen out of no where.

last big one i felt was.. i don't know last year? it was only like a 5.0.. the one in 89.. was pretty big 7.1?. i just hope no earthquake happens when i'm crossing over the bay bridges.. sheesh! it's a long way down into freezing cold water.

We actually get very little earthquakes in California.

But when we get them, they can be pretty big.

    Your screwed.

Its probably different through different regions.

Whereas, a misprediction about rain will just make someone unhappy.

And a misprediction about a tornado could be the difference between someone being prepared and not.

So, I bet theres a certain degree of reliability.

Aww yeahh, it's great living on an island. No hurricanes, no tornados, no earthquakes, nothing!! A bit of a cold breeze now and then, but that's about the worst of it. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Sooooo true. The further north you go, the worse it gets.

When the sun actually shines people are like "WTH? what's that glowing thing?"

I live in miami beach, i'd personally take a hurricane to a tornado, the huricane you know about several days in advance, although since we're right on the coast it has the potential to gain a lot of power out in the ocean before striking land <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
