<div class="IPBDescription">suggestions and ideas outcast</div> would it be possible to put civilians into a map?
simple bots or somthing that just roam around, or possibly have basic weapons.
im asking because it could lead to cool new gameplay mode, ie. marines gotta protect civilians while aliens just gotta deeestroy.

otherwise this could be just a bonus for realism in a different environment, a supermarket or whatever.?! have a load of civies around for aliens to masacre and leave dead bodies about the place to make marines games more 'involving'?

I think it would be cool, but I'm not sure it really fits into the theme. The premise is the TSA finds these drifting ships/abandoned bases and goes in to clear them out. Adding civs would complicate the story. Plus I don't think a 'protect' game mode would work for NS, since the Marines need to expand to survive.

God damn NOOOO. Haven't you read any bit of the mapping guidelines and the story, Melatonin?!? NO BLOOD, NO MASSACRE, NO GIBS!!! This game is free for younger audience so to say.
And... no the only human you can add to maps is the security guy from Half-Life. But he is invulnerable and doesn't shoot. Other monsters or scientist can only be added serversides via meta-mods (small programs, like spamm blockers, lerk-lift, unstuck...).
Of course you can add custom models everywhere (the computerchairs in some maps are an example). Note that they can not be bound to an AI so they basically stand around animated. If you want characters walking around really bad you would have to 'animate' them all the way they should go. Good luck.

its somthing my room mate thought up the other day, and im quite interested in the idea of custom maps with alternate 'missions'..

Actually, such was once discussed for a seperate gameplay mode, and Flayra wasn't exactely opposed. Maybe, once in a time, but not right now.

I like how you are acting so high and mighty, despite the fact that you are not even answering his question. Being nice to people, and constructively pointing out problems in whatever they are posting is a good thing, you know.
