Making All 3 Chamber Types

without 3 hives.
I discovered this last night on NS_Caged. I was the gorge and we started with the Vent hive. I made Defensive Chambers first. After a while, I finaly put up the 2nd hive at Generator. I made movement chambers there. Then the Vent hive was under attack from a JP-HMG. I warped to the hive to try and save it by webbing and healspraying, but it was no use, he was on top of the hive where I couldn't reach him, and no skulks were around. When the hive died, there were soo many webs under the hive, the JP fell into them and died from my healspray.
Here is the secret. Vent was our first hive that was assigned Defensive chambers, but when you rebuild it, it forgets which chamber it builds. So I plopped down 3 sensory chambers at each hive and now our aliens had full upgrade abilities 3 DC, 3 MC, and 3 SC. It was very funny soon after. I never saw the battles myself, but I saw the marines typing"Cloaking! WTH!!" followed by the alien "MWUAHAHA" I tell you they never expected that.
Of coursethis trick isn't possible to pull off unless you lose a hive and rebuild it. and I did lose the ability to build new Defensive Chambers until we claimed the third hive. Luckily, I alrleady had ample amounts of DC.

Anyway, losing a hive for some senses is not a good deal imo.
and so i think building dc, so u can dc up around the place, or else you`ll be back to screwville courtesy off hmg/jp
way i saw it was, its there by design, as in the new hive is vanilla untill you choose the flavour.
anyways, you can tell by the icon next to the hive logo on screen. if aliens checked their HUDs a little more often, this wouldnt be so widely unknown?
Can't wait till 1.1 where it will be viable to go move or sense first, it will be like when ns was first released where everyone said "CL04k OMG 2 k00l 4 Sk00l!!1!!one!" and it was always chosen first... those were the days...
Cloaked skulk > (seemingly thin air) "chuckle"
+ fade + regen = more pwnage.
Not if they continually acidrocket spam from a decent distance.
lol
same here
You can have 3 hives, the first one you start with is your primary Hive. Always, try to built 3 of every chambers in this hive (as a backup), then build as many you need to the other hives. Because, if the marines destroy the hive & Movement/Sensory chambers from the second/third hive your team still has full advantage of the upgrades.
[OFFTOPIC]
My fade combinations (but i prefer lerk most of the time)
adrenaline/carapace/cloaking
silence/regen/cloaking
adre/regen/scent of fear
celerity/regen/cloaking
Well basically i use every upgrade, and with every combination i play completely diffrent style. Of course i wont try to attack fortified bases without adrenaline or whacking HA/HMG, it would be pointless. With celerity/regen/cloaking i'm just doing some minor harrasments and i can quickly flee if i have to.
You might wonder why in earth i choose silence/regen/cloaking, well first it really was silence/regeneration, it was cool to scare some marines they didnt have any idea who was breathing down on their necks in the dark.
Why i prefer regen over carapace?, because it works for me. And if i have to do some heavy attacking, i take carapace but not if there isnt some place to heal up (usually there isnt). As a fade, if we would lose MC's we would be in big trouble without backup chambers in our primary hive.

As a gorge, i always try to use this backup plan i wrote about above.

Well this may be more useful in the new players forum, as I do believe most people already know this.
Thanks anyways though.

YES!
Listen to this, darnit! I've played so many games where we lose upgrades because we didn't have backups...
