My Budgerigar, I Don't Want To Get Cold

<div class="IPBDescription">I left my budgie outside afterdark, help</div> I accidentally left my budgie outside after dark today, for about an hour. It's also fairly cold. I didn't put him outside originally so i simply forgot while playing ns... an hour later i just brought him in when my family said 'WTH' when they got home, so =/

any tips apart from a warm room [its already been heated for a while] and cover on cage to keep him warm and protect him from cold? thanks...

    I'm not sure I understand this; why is it necessary that the budgie be outside in the first place?

    we put his cage [with him in it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->] outside every day [during the daylight] so he can get some fresh air and be outside. later we're going to get him an aviary <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    He should be fine man. Budgie = feathers = warmest insulation in the world. Jus keep him in a warm room and he should be fine. Warming him up to quick might harm him since he only little.

    meh, just keep him inside, if he is going to be ok, he will be. else there is not much to do. (the fact that he aint dead says he probably will be ok now)

    as for budgies being ok out in the cold, not really. They are tropical birds (As I remember) also if you havn't knowticed most birds fly to warmer cliamets for the winter <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    but yah, he should be fine don't wory

    Only thing I can think of is to cover his cage to protect him from drafts, but I'm sure you knew that already. I think they can deal with some cold, but their feathers don't protect them well from wind.

    I'd suppose he doesn't need to be outside to get fresh air... A window could suffice. Of course, I don't have any pets. Especially with this late incident I am not too fond of them anymore.

    Now my story <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
    My neighbor has this dog. This dog loves to bark. He barks when I pass, he barks when I work, he barks for no good reason. Of course, it could pass like this. Yet it is often quite annoying to hear barking at 5 in the morning when you just went to a well-deserved sleep an hour before.
    Ok well so I suppose earplugs could work, but he once went over to our place (don't ask how - I don't know) and went for my room (probably the chocolate) and he put a FRIKKEN MESS. Of course I get angry, I toss him out, he barks at me and bites me, the master comes, he thinks I hit the dog, and now my neighbor is my enemy (along with this bite in my leg)

    Morale: I hope your pet can behave correctly

    feather isnt as good as fur, and no good against wind as whoever said before <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    yer i immediately covered cage with his cover, and yer he seems fine now the next afternoon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> matter of fact im going to clean his cage now, its a mess!! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    incidentally, just explain to your neighbour what happened after he calms down

    then smack him for having an annoying dog <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    btw, u need to give all animals fresh air... and not the fake 'fresh air' u cant just put em next to an open window, jeez <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    they need to be outside <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> sure inside a cage, but still outside of the disgustingly boring house <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    hehe

    birds = hammer a nail securely into the roof of something so it curves upwards, then hang birds cage from it. make sure its secure tho <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> bring em in before dark, or if its cold at all [well, you shouldnt have put them outside if it wasnt a nice day <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->]

    OR.

    Let them go extinct, like they damn well should do.

    Of course that isn't very nice for them, but I'm also a proponent of the 'sooner we get a nuclear war, the sooner the rest of the species will sort the planet' theory.

    I won't help it along. They are going extinct in the wild quite happily without any help from me.

    if your budgies aren't sick you needn't worry. just keep them out of drafts, for they are sensitive to wind. when i leave my birds outside, i leave a towel over the top of the cage so they can have a little shade if they need it and blockage from wind.
