And seconded... PLEASE don't be a segue into a 'second series!' announcement. :b The first one was chopped horribly enough by the backers, and the movie was just a weak apology, it seemed.
A friend of mine who is a huge Eva nut (no, I don't know what's wrong with him <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ) sent me a link a while ago about a sequel. Apparently, there is one in the works. I'm gonna try to get a hold of him and see if I can get the link. Hopefully, there won't be a sequel, cause the first one was terrible.
It'll either be a sequel, prequel or a remake of the series. Noone knows at this point.
This time around they have a virtually unlimited budget to mess around with.
I'm praying for a remake and this time that they'll be more true to the manga version. Hell the manga version is still GOING.
I'm looking forward to it personally. Though others are dreading it.
I hope it's 52 episodes long...... (2 full seasons)

'Part One' ended with Instrumentality failing.
It's unknown whether everyone returned to their human forms (I'm assuming they did because Asuka and Shinji were on the beach)
So yeah... It could be quite... disturbing as a sequel.
My fingers are crossed on the remake option.

On a side note, its amazing how much effort I'm going through to find info on this considering I didn't like Eva. In fairness, I probably should watch it again since NONE of it made sense the first time. Perhaps knowing what is going to happen will help me understand it. *shrug*
I watched the entire series + Death/Rebirth and End in one run, decided that I very much liked the theme, the general feel and the characters, but I felt that it was a great story that just got mutilated almost beyond recognition.
When I get back in a few hours I'll post all the pics.

But seriously, there seems to be something rather wrong with classifying EVAs, it smacks of Gundam-ism. And that would not be good for NGE.
Never really enjoyed this.
