Worst Case Scenario

what if...you found your home up in flames. too late to save it, but enough time to run in and save three things. no one is trapped inside so...lucky you. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'>

what would those three things be?

i believe i'd run in and grab:

1. my pets, i have two dogs and two parakeets
2. my family photos
3. prolly my computer, the case and the things inside it.

Lucky for me, I'm in an apartment, so if that ever went up in flames I'd prolly grab my computer, mountain bike, and Gamecube.

All my important stuff (family photos, dog, etc) is at my house, and I'm sure SOMEONE in my family would grab that stuff for me. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

I'd take the first box/bag of stuff with one third of all my stuff in it, then my second bag/box with one third of all my stuff in it, and my third bag/box with one third of all my stuff in it.

okay ****...you got me. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'> my dogs would survive being that the back yard is pretty spacious. i'd take my birds, for the thought of them turning into crispy chicken nuggets displeases me. they both live in a bird cage so let me re-phrase that and say their cage with them inside. they wouldn't be out if i wasn't home.

when i said computer i'm talking about the actual cpu, hard drive, and modem inside the case... i can rip the cords from the back and just carry the case right, riiight?

man, id be really surprised if there was a full fire at my house.. and not just like 'AAHHH HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN' id be like 'WTH.. howd this happen...' cos u cant just drop a match on the floor, or in a full bin. sure the bin will go 'WHOOSH' and burn, but itd all be paper and would scorch a lot of stuff, but it wouldnt really set alight the tables and chairs.. right? :|

but yeah, after pets, i think id just panic, not knowing WTH to get. definitely NOT computer, that stuff is ALL replaceable. probably the family photo albums, if i could, or lug out our huge dvd + tv set up. I don't actually much stuff here that has sentimental value...but as we don't have home insurance i'd grab as much of the expensive stuff as I could...so my PC and its sound system..although if time was short i could just take my hard drive out as its on a removable caddy (theres also all my files from the last 4 years on there backed up from my old computer and every hard drive i've had)
I'd open the door to let my dog out..and prolly grab the bird cage to save my budgie although the daft thing annoys the crap out of me most of the time I don't think i could let it burn to death ;p

Wow. Nearly everyone stated that they will take their computers with them. Since my home has home insurance I would say I would get

1. Photos
2. Box of my sentimental Stuff (letters, presents frm frens, adress book etc)
3. My drawer of important documents (passport, certificates etc)

lol quite a few of you also have budgies for pets...they're too cute. i love hearing them chatter and sing when i play music in my room. it would be a shame if i left mine, i trained em myself. cept the yellow one she's so mean to me. heh. oh well.

we're taking our computers cuz there's a lot of work on them! a lot of files saved. i would hate to start from scratch without all the crud i have on my computer.
