New Forum Idea

<div class="IPBDescription">for the angry...</div> In the last week or so, I’ve noticed a major increase in people complaining about anything and everything with NS and its players. All this is fine, but I really think there should be a separate forum to let them take out their frustrations in. Everyone that is tired of reading rants and flames, could have a bit of a break. The forum could be labeled Primal Scream or something NS related. It might even lighten the load some of the moderators are dealing with. Let me know what you all think. Also, would it cost extra to do this?

[edit] Grr sorry. I'm limited on what I can do when I post at work(time frame). Plus, where I work there are some annoying security features that make certain forum tools not work. Search features on forums will not work on this computer. I also only read the forums on my lunch break, never at home(way to busy...playing ns!). *sigh* Please use the search function at the bottom of the boards. Also, check in Suggestions and Ideas Forum, scroll down a bit to "A New Forum" and discuss in that.

Wierd, I spent 3 hours reading the discussion forums a week ago, and probably found out more information, from one collective, than I have ANYWHERE else. Such a shame it's been shut down.

Whether or not the search button works, there is a search function at the bottom of each function that *does* work. Just so everyone knows. (:

Nah, I'm not new(see joined date). Searching is not a luxury I get. I'll just stick to not posting, to much bs from work.

How about this: the next time you feel like posting something angry, type it all out. Read it over carefully, and think about whether you *really* want to say everything you're about to say, and whether you're actually getting across the point you're trying to make.

Then, if you're still sure you want to go ahead, post the reply by pressing the [X] button at the top right corner of your browser window.


The NS forums are not a place for flames, yelling, or other entirely unproductive forms of communication. People seem to have a lot less self control online - most people blame this on the anonymity that the Internet offers us. I hope that's true - otherwise, the majority of people in the world are a LOT less nice than most of the people I know in real life.

The Discussions forum was an attempt to offer forumers a place to discuss more "questionable" topics, topics that had the potential to degenerate into flaming. It didn't work, precisely because it *did* degenerate. A forum designed specifically *for* degeneration............. No, I think we'll pass on that one. If it's on our forums, it's our responsibility to moderate it, and I, personally, don't want to have to wade through a forum dedicated to flaming.

Regarding the search function: the button does not work for many people. I'd be surprised if the search field at the bottom of the forums is similarly broken, as I've never heard any instance of it not working. If your work computers really do restrict your access that much, my apologies, and I will advance the apologies of anyone else who jumped you for not searching. That said, we're done here.
