i dont know if anyone/myself has asked this before but are you suppose to go through portals or something? because i see Join Marines and Join Alies and Join Spectators on every map...

At the start of every game you spawn inside the 'Readyroom' (Hence the site named <a href="http://www.readyroom.org" target="_blank">thusly</a>, clever huh? <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> ) You then get the choice of four doors (pits, portals, whatever) to go through, one for Aliens, one for Marines, one for Random team and one for Observe game.

Its a bit funkier than a simple menu.

What's really nice is that you can spend some time to relax, chat, and goof off after a long game in game.  Much preferable to the little menus.

In the readyroom, you have the same model as you had as the game ended.  So yeah, you have bobs, level 5's, and marines running around.  It's awesome <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

But what about when you first enter the readyroom? Like, I join a server, then go to the readyroom... what do I look like?

i think the standard model is the marine, however i have seen some gordans in there ;P never know.

You start out in the readyroom when you join the server. What you run around as is usually what you last played as, but I've seen a few scientists with headcrabs on their head. Dunno why.

What's really amusing is when an alien was upgrading itself at the time a game ended.  They restart in the readyroom as a gestation chamber (the cocoon aliens create around themselves anytime they upgrade).  So you see a large pink blob running around trying to decide which side to join.

Currently, at the start of a new game, your player model in the readyroom will be whatever you have selected for regular HLDM.  If you have a model selected that another person doesn't have, they will just see you as the default Gordon model.  I'm sure this will change at some point - maybe just all marines to start?
